Aww, that's a really cute-sounding dream, Erin! Lol, we can always count on Richard for something like that!

You've been having a few very cool dreams recently. I love it!

I know everybody's seen this like a million times before but i just had to Post this Placido clip!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QTcYgDCCcy0&NR=1
Yup that clip sure is 'pretty great', hehe! I actually bought the Put Down the Duckie special a few weeks ago. It brought back so many memories (I almost wish I also had the original PBS pledge segments in between! lol) More than anything, I wish they would put the 1991 "Big Bird's Birthday (Or Let Me Eat Cake)" special on DVD. Looking back, I remember Forgetful Jones is on screen for a few seconds and has a moment with Big Bird (I'm pretty sure the only moment a Richard character had).

Well, Scooter did "There's a New Sound" on one of the UK spots, and then there were all of the classical pieces Rowlf did. But the UK spots gave the Muppet crew to do a lot of music hall numbers - some of which might not fly on network television in the U.S. (see also: Waiting at the Church...can you imagine what kind of jokes the Muppeteers were making off camera over that one?)
That's true, so there definitely were exceptions. I always enjoy the songs that seem so obviously British. Even though it's the same language, it's a very different culture, lol.

Another Muppet dream last night - Scooter was standing in front of the red TMS curtain and talking to the audience. He had with him some bizarre-looking stage prop made of gears, pulleys, scrap wood and assorted odds and ends. It must have been part of a sketch he and the others were going to do.
And down below Scooter and the prop, you could clearly see Richard, from about the shoulders up. He periodically made faces at the camera, and he was wearing a green jacket identical to Scooter's. (but he wasn't wearing his microphone, for some reason)
Lol, that must have been nice. I think we're all anxious to see more accidental Muppet cameos, lol. Interesting how your subconscious didn't see fit to include the microphone, hehe.

You know - in "Wembley and the Mean Genie," several times you can see the top of Richard's head just below the Genie, and during "Home is Where the Trash is," as Philo and Gunge are rearranging stuff in Red and Mokey's room, you can see Richard's sleeve (he was apparently wearing a blue-gray shirt that day) below Gunge.

As for other cameos - in "Gobo's School for Explorers," as Red and Gobo are perched on the ledge in the hole to Who-Knows-Where, a few times you can see the top of Jerry's head beneath Gobo.

I was just thinking today that I thought I saw Richard's head below the Genie, wasn't sure though, thanks! I love the way he keeps calling Gobo, "Goo Goo" or something, lol. But then later when he's alone with Wembley he gets the name right, proving he was just trying to annoy Gobo. You really do end up hating that Genie, lol. Yet at the same time you feel sorry for him because you can tell he's been left along too long. But like any deliquent child, he needs to learn how to learn responsibilty despite life difficulties.

I'll have to look up the ones in "Home is Where the Trash Is" and "Gobo's School of Explorers." (Yay, Gobo learns to whistle! Glad he did, because I still can't, lol.)

In the second season, in the episode "Manny's Land of Carpets", I'm pretty sure you can see Richard's head below Gillis at one point (or I guess the Fraggle who would become Gillis since he hadn't been named yet as far as we can tell!). In fact, you can see an entire face during the song "Follow the Road." It's not Richard, but still, I'm surprised no one's noticed that yet.

Oh, it's him - it's that distinctive curly crop of his, don't you know.

As for me, I'm amazed at how long Richard's hair was visible on screen during the Bernadette Peters episode, when they're all singing "Just One Person."

Hehe! I got see an episode of The Cher Show the other night, the season premiere from 1975. Because it was the season premiere, there were a ton of big guests, including Bill Cosby, the Smothers Brothers and...The Muppets! It was very enjoyable, I always thought Cher had a good blend of sexuality and humor. And the Smothers Brothers and Cosby are also hilarious.

Oh, but since this is a Muppets board, you'd probably want to hear more about the Muppets! And since this is a Richard thread, you'd probably want to hear if RH made any notable appearanes! Well, here we go:

In the first Muppet scene, we see Cher rehearsing "Satisfaction" with the Electric Mayhem. To my instant surprise, we see a young version of Janice...clearly voice by Richard Hunt! Remember this was 1975, a year before the Muppet Show premiered, and Richard didn't voice Janice in the first season. So this is a very interesting little bit of trivia!

The voice he uses for Janice was sort of like his typical high little kid voice. Remember the "I Feel Pretty" sketch on the Muppet Show, with the little girls with fangs singing back up? Janice sounds like one of those:

http://youtube.com/watch?v=7NblU3J_5mI

In the next sketch the Muppet dog Rufus (from "Hey Cinderella") is in a bar smoking and drinking with a Smothers brother, lol. At one point, you do hear notably loud laughing in the background.

Next Cher is singing "Something" (by George Harrison), flancked by Sweetums. I very quickly determined he was being voiced by Jim Henson. I was slightly disapointed, but the voice and scene were still cute, lol.

A few scenes later, Billy Cosby is playing doctor, and in walks our huge, brown furry friend again. I assumed he would once again be voiced by Jim. However, I was quickly proven wrong as he walked in and announced himself, "Sweetums!" This time it was definitely Richard, which leads me to think Richard had performed Sweetums during "Something" but Jim had pre-recorded the track with Cher.

Anyway, the sketch with Bill Cosby was great, Sweetums is a bit more like a thug here, like in the Frog Prince:

Cosby: Now I want you to roll your eyes for me.

::Sweetums does so:: Ow, Brain hurts!

Cosby: Now I know what your problem is, you're completely covered in dandruff!

Sweetums: Yea, Sweetums know. Has to be followed by snowplow!

Cosby: Head and Shoulders in the thing for you.

Sweetums: Sweetums try that, it not good enough.

Cosby: Oh well, have you tried Wrist and Ankles?

Sweetums: Huh? ! Bad joke! Ugh, brain hurt!

Cosby: Now you should get yourself some shoes, like Hushpuppies!

Sweetums: Sweetums try Hushpuppies...need St. Bernards!....Bad joke, brain hurt!

Cosby: Ok, here's my bill.

Sweetums: $150? !

Cosby: It's not often I have a monster for a patient!

Sweetums: At these prices, no wonder! (audience laughed at that) Bad joke!

Cosby: Yeah yeah, brain hurt!

Lol, following that scene we see Cher and her guest stars (including Sweetums in the center) doing a song about exercise and working out. Sweetums tries to make muscles and use some of the equipment. It sort of looks like maybe Richard wasn't told what to do, lol, but it's still great. Even Cher laughed at him.

In the end, Jim Henson comes out and Cher says goodbye to everybody. Bill Cosby dances with Sweetums for a few seconds. Then Sweetums goes over to Jim and keeps trying to get him to dance but Jim just stands there and keeps laughing at him. At which point, Sweetums ways his hand at Jim as if to say, "the heck with you" (Or more likely "Your face!" of course!). Overall it was very enjoyable.

(laughs) Muppets and Cher. Now there's an interesting combination.

Just came back from a friend's wedding - the bride was one of my classmates. It was kind of low-key and prim, but still fun.

I had another Muppet dream a few nights ago. It was on the set of some show that appeared to be a bizarre amalgamation of TMS and FR, and Richard was directing the episode that was being shot at that time. At one point, I spotted Richard chatting with some young kids who were visiting the set - and he got a hug from one of them.

Yeah they should do another DVD of Muppet appearances on different variety shows (as usual copyright would be the big difficulty lol).

Yeah Cher and the Muppets definitely had chemistry, as well as the Muppets with Cosby and the Smothers Brothers. All four of them would have been great on the Muppet Show.

Lol, odd how the dream stuff dried up for awhile and now it's coming back lately at full force! Does this have anything to do with that Twister-type "new RHLC topic" board Richard was said to be carrying?
