I know, it has a certain charm about it. It's no fun when everything's all slick and glossy and over-produced.

Reminds me of one paragraph from "Of Muppets and Men:"

Given that most of the Muppet performers are unable to read music, learning these parts has not been easy, but Ray Charles - whose first love is vocal music - has spent three days coaching the singers until they are performing the piece almost perfectly. "But not quite perfectly," says Ray. "That would be inappropriate for The Muppet Show."

It is interesting, on the one hand, we want to progress and get better at our various crafts. But along the way we often lose a lot of charm and character getting there (actually, heh George Harrison said something similar once hehe).

It's true - on one episode of "I Love the 70s," one commentator was making cracks about how you could see the Muppets' arm rods and all that. But for us, that's all part of the fun - as is seeing the occasional Muppet performer's head.

Yeah that kind of thing annoys me a bit, I mean, if that's all they're focused on they are clearly missing the point. And yes I know it's just a joke, but still! :halo:

Interesting Muppet-related dream last night, and it was in two parts.

In the first part, I was on the set of Fraggle Rock watching the gang do "The Rock Goes On," as seen in the documentary. And I saw Richard working with his puppets...and this time I think he saw me.

In the second part, there was a group of Muppets on the stage (behind the red curtain) at the Muppet Theater, and they seemed to be rehearsing for "Manhattan Melodies." As I remember, it was the core group of Muppets, plus a few extra characters who weren't in the movie, and they were working on "Together Again."

Wow, that's such an interesting dream!
I guess you were goin' "Behind the scenes".

Sad that Richard did not say anything
when he saw yeh in your dream.
:stick_out_tongue:

"Orange juice and doughnuts are the way to life!"
Sorry, I had to.

Look what I found!

What an amazing day for Richard that must have been; he gets to talk with Bill Cosby and then sing with his "name sake", opera singing Placido Domingo!

It's not on youtube anymore, but there was another clip once of an interview where Placido Domingo discussed his appearance on Sesame Street. He said his Flamingo name sake kept telling everyone on set, "Here comes the imposter!" LOL
