Exactly, very well put, that's what I was trying to say. I can't think of too many kids shows that included so many Monster characters as good guys, while still maintaining their edge!

Yeah the song was great, I was sitting there thinking "Oh this is such a sweet moment." Then that one familiar sounding monster popped up at the end and I nearly jumped out of my seat! Lol Actually it's sort of similar to Sweetums' big moment at the end of TMM.

It's not extreme at all, Carrie. I don't give specifics about where I live or go to school over the net, myself.

Better get posting, guys. There's another Steve Whitmire fan club forming up in this part of the forum. Need to keep Richard on top of the heap, after all!
Aw, they don't have anything on us! Do you think the'll be able to catch up with us?

Heh, yeah you know I never thought of that before! Lol

Yeah that's the first thing I thought too! Lol It's OK, academic stress messes with the brain. Ohh good luck on the eye exam!

Oh yay! Another performance by the amazingly talented Placido Flamingo!

I love that one! Very Fun!

Hey guys! Wow, lots of nice chatting and stuff.

I feel sorta left outta the loop. Been having to deal with various things. First up on the radar:

I GOT MY DRIVER'S LICENSE!!! YAYYYY!

Also, my knee is finally completely better! No more cane! Only to be brought down by a pilonidal cyst. (Click the link for more information. By the way, there are no pictures of any kind; so nothing to be grossed out about.)

I also have a new doctor, Dr. Korman. Ehh, they put me on antibotics and some strong ibuprofen. 800 mg strength actually. But at least my pain is pretty much quelled with that pain meds. It hurts to make the movements to sit and to get up from a sitting position. Once I'm seated, however a lot of pain is gone actually. And there's little pain while standing.

So how's everything going with you guys?
That's great Sara! that's awsome tha you did!

Yeah I've heard of the Up and Down one, I hope I get to see that eventually!

Oh and the phone call sketch is also great for all its in jokes about the opera world! As usual, Sesame Street used jokes that paid off for kids later in life.

Oh my...lol...I was listening to MC radio the other day, and a song came on from the old SS album "The Sesame Street Monsters." This was the last song on the record, "Be Kind to your Neighborhood Monsters." It's a very sweet song, Grover sings about how Herry can't help being so clumsy, Cookie can't help eating so many cookies, and (of course) Grover can't help being so cute! Basically the point of the song was that monsters may seem scary and different, but that doesn't mean they'll hurt you. I always loved that lesson on SS, to face your fears and not automatically be afraid of differences.

Anyway, the song goes on, very touching, all the characters singing together and being kind to monsters. It finally comes to a pleasant end when suddenly a menacing (and strangely familar) voice pops up, laughing loudly and yelling "YEAH, BE NICE TO ME! BE NICE TO ME!" Completely shattering the sentimentality of the moment (though I'm sure his heart was in the right place). Sound like anyone we know? Lol
I havn't sen that one in years!

Yeah. I love that song! And haha! That's so funny at the end, too!

(walks in trailing a cloud of smoke) Sorry, everyone, but I think my brain's overheated with all the work I've had to do over the last three days.

Hmm, a monster yelling for people to be nice to him...now that you mention it, that does kinda sound like someone we know...

(voice from above) Be nice to me! Be nice to me!

Yeah, definitely someone we know.

OK... *Waving white flag. Who is this monster you're talking about? The only SS monster I know of that was performed by Richard was one of the heads of the Two-Headed Monster. Not sure if that line would be quotable to him, er, it, er them, er the head voiced by Richard.

Oh and Erin, here's something for that smokin' hot head of yours.
*Tosses a water balloon to cool her down.
*Watches the steam fog around her as her flaming hair gets put out. Wow, she's definitely a hottie now.

I'm back guys!! And my cyst has um...taken care of itself. (To use somewhat non-gross words. >>) It's still there, and I'm still on those antibotics, and everything's going fine around here. Got a sinus infection, but eh; I'm totally used to 'em.

Actually I'm a bit suprised I didn't have one eariler in the year, when the pine pollen season hit. My car looked more like Nigel then Kermit in ways of color it was so deep!

R: Finally, a use for those water balloons I wanted to pitch at Jim Lewis. (drops one on me)
MN: Thanks, Richard, I needed that...but since it's in the 40s here 'cause of that nor'easter that screamed through here over the weekend, I could use a towel. (grabs one) So how's everything going up there?
R: Well...it's suddenly gotten a little fuller up here, as you know...and there were three Jersey kids among them.
MN: Yeah, one came from Flemington. My grandmother lives near there. And another kid was a Penn State grad. My mom's alma mater.
R: (looking unusually serious) What a waste...
MN: I know, all the college kids in the U.S. are really freaked...so we're going to need a lot of laughs and Muppet antics in the next few days.
R: And I think a chorus of "Shed a Little Light" wouldn't hurt, either.
MN: Too true.

Oh I don't think it was a defined character we'd seen before. Rather it was the sort of character Richard would have played. The album is full of "extra" monsters as well as the regulars we're familar with like Grover and Herry. (Back when more than one monster could be featured on a Sesame Street album, hint hint Hehe)

And thanks for giving us that information, MN. Yes it was definitely a horrible waste for everyone involved.

Oh, OK then. Actually, there are two other SS monsters voiced/performed by Richard I know of.
The first is named appropriately enough... Richard. He appeared in this episode I have on VHS where Olivia's Grandmother comes to SS to set up her own vegetable stand. He doesn't show up until the second half of the episode though.
The other, one I would've liked to have seen and remember from his time on the show was Aristotle. They say that he was a quiet blind monster who made friends with Telly. All I remember of him is his image in one of the SS Magazine issues back when I had better sight myself.

Hope this helps, have a good night.

Oh cool, what does that character do in the episode you have on tape?

Yeah I'd like to see Aristotle at some point as well. Pretty gutsy idea to have a blind Muppet.
