It's OK... Just hope your day gets better. Heard Scooter has your drink and peach tart ready.
*Scooter, comes running in: Here I am! *Hands off dessert order to heralde, then zips back off to check clipboard and whatever errand he needs to run with Sadie.

Thanks, Scooter!

I know you didn't mean anything, I just get sensitive about what I write sometimes.

MN, I would be interested in hearing if that Muppet Quilting book is any good (after the pie fight is over of course). I've heard of it. It's pretty hard to find.

(looks up from makings of pie-fragment trifle) Hey, can we get a little more whipped cream over here, please? And I'd prefer it brought over in the mixing bowl or the can, not tossed over...

I've read some stuff about the book, and here's what I know...it seems to contain 15 Muppet patterns modified for novice/beginner/all-but-inept types. I think it's about 4 TMS and the rest SS. But Scooter's not in there (sigh). The rest of the book contains photos of the quilts that the Muppet workshop made over the years to mark special occasions such as births, retirements, gall bladder surgery...okay, scratch that last one. In the article on the subject on Muppet Wiki, there's a huge list of people who worked on the quilts...and in addition to the Muppet designers, there's also a few Muppeteers on the list. I thought that was kinda cool.

I sent out the request over the ILL, and the library's dispatched the request to a few libraries...and then my mother calls and tells me that she's placed an order for it via Amazon. So I'm going to get to read it either way.

Oh cool, I didn't realize the book had quilts made by the Workshop people. That's great that your Mom's so supportive of your interest, hehe. I look forward to hearing about the book! (We'll try to keep it clear of the flying pies!)

I decided to try watching the Muppets Take Manhattan DVD in Full screen edition the other day. Usually I prefer Letterbox, but I got curious. I was shocked at the amount of Muppety nitpicks that could be seen, tops of the heads, arms, arm socks etc. Twice you could clearly see all the way to Jerry's forehead, lol. There was a couple of times where you could clearly see a curly headed fellow somewhere under Scooter, not sure who that joker was...anyone know?

It's so weird to realize the bobbing heads below the puppets are the ones actually saying the dialogue!

This has been said several times, but you can clearly see Richard's arm and sleeve during "Saying Goodbye." It wasn't really sad, but rather touching as you're listening to him sing his verse.

Yeah, Mom's definitely supportive of my interest...but then, we're all Muppet fans to some extent in my house. When I brought copies of "The Works" and "Of Muppets and Men" home with me, I had to pretty much pry them out of my family's hands.

I think we're going to be more interested in reading about the workshop quilts; see what the guys and girls were up to when they weren't building Muppets or waving them around in front of the cameras.

I read one review of the book on Amazon...and I think the reviewer kind of turns his/her/its nose up at the book because it's "more for Muppet admirers than for quilting aficionados." Picky, picky.

I haven't seem MTM in a bit, but next time I sit down for a watch, I'll keep my eyes out for any curly-haired guys hovering just outside of the shot...

Sorry you were feeling so bad today, heralde. Being on here can be very theraputic somtimes. Where all here for each other and to help each other feel better sometime. You know, Somtimes it good and healthy to vent your problems out. But I guess you have to balance that out with having fun somtimes, too. But it's good to be serious from time to time, too. And theres nothing wrong with that, either.

Hmm, I don't really know about chiffon pie, but I do know about chiffon cake. Apparently, it was invented back in the '50s; the recipe called for vegetable oil instead of butter, and that made the cake lighter and fluffier or something. I think all the recipes kept calling it 'elegant' or something...prob. to sell more vegetable oil.

As for chiffon pie...I don't know, it might have to do with egg whites or something. I'd have to look it up.

Hmm, well that's interesting anyway.

I guess I should have asked before I just randomly threw it at someone, hehe. :halo:
