And you know...with all the times Richard was spotted reading a newspaper on the set, I'll bet the same thing happened to him from time to time; he probably read more horror stories in the news than he would have liked to. And I'll bet that made him even more determined to make people's lives a little brighter.
True, he did seem to be forever reading the newspaper on set...which is good of course, lol. (I hardly ever read the paper, I mainly watch the TV news. However, the paper is definitely more in-depth!)

Seeing as he did seem to care about the impact the Muppets were having on children, the news probably did trouble him from time to time. At least I hope so, it should upset any human being.

Very true, Skye, know that the bad stuff is not everywhere all the time. We'd feel better if we occasionally stepped back and acknowledge all the good things we do have (like this thread and the people in it, hehe).

Thank it so true heralde. When there is an issue that you know is really worth solving, then you should take action and do somthing about it. But sometimes you really do have to step back when it get's to be to much for you. My dad just keep the 24 hour news channel on well...24 huours. So I can see second hand the effect all that bad news can have on somone and there view at how they look at and view the world. It's on thing to be carful and caucious, but you sould not let in control your life and live in fear about every they report, you know?

That's true, reading a papre is more in-depth the just a ten second sound clip off of the tv or something.

Yeah, and with a paper, you don't have to download anything or use any electricity. You just open the pages and go.

I'm starting to wonder if the 24-hour news channel has any real effect on our lives. Sure, CNN is known for some really excellent reporting...but I think we're getting to a point where we're being bombarded by way too much information, if we're not there already. Not just in the news, but in the world in general.

We are gitting too much imformation. But I guess it's on all day because to keep people alert when ever something really signifigant or important happends. And it's also on for conveince in case something worth wile happens and you can get to it right away and can catch it late. It just that it's a really slow news day all the time and you get the same regurgitated stuff every ten minutes. But the problem with is being on all day if that often they have to come up these thing that arn't really all that important to begin with and blow in out of porpotion. You really have to have all thess sinsationalistic stories all the time to keep people intersetd and whaching because people lose intrest when it's on all day. But you don't need to here every tome somone burp in China or something, LOL! It just not nessesary, you know?

Plus you can also recycle the paper, too. So your not wasting resources or anything.

Yes, and newspapers are recyclable...and we have more fun recycling the papers than we do recycling the stories on the news, thank you very much. God bless and keep whoever invented the mute button for the remote control.

And we sure as heck do NOT need five million MINDLESS, USELESS tidbits about Paris Hilton or Lindsay Lohan or Brad Pitt or the latest dish du jour. Grrr...that's what they invented E! for.

Oh, well, that's why I like the Muppets so much. They're funny and they're much easier to identify with. And they seem halfway sane compared with some of the people in this world. (Then again, maybe sane's the wrong word to describe the Muppets or the Muppet crew.)

Right, the line between what entertainment and real, ligitimate news has virtually vanished by the media anymore. I love the mute botton, it's one of my favorite channels. You have "ET" Passing off "real" news as entertainment.

Yes, I would agree that the muppet are so much more sane then the people in this world anymore.

Yes very true about recycling papers, I always feel good when I am able to do that.

Lol, someone posted this photo on Muppet Wiki, as an explanation of Black Theater. If you have the Emmet Otter DVD, you would have seen it before. Or a slightly different photo in the The Works book. Lol, I love the Wiki caption!

(chuckle) "Richard Hunt acts 'nutty' with squirrels for a scene in Emmet Otter..." so how is that different from anything else Richard does on the set?

I saw the other photo in The Works...ah, the world of the Muppet crew, bless them all. Where else could you easily expect to find a guy wearing a black hood and tunic and balancing a pair of (puppet) squirrels on his head and shoulders?

True, the black outfit sort of encourages crazy to begin with, don't it? It always look so cool to me, lol.

Yeah really, the only difference is there just happened to be squirrels this time! Nothing unusual there!

I know, it's very rare to find a job you genuinely enjoy and feel good about.

Unrelated but, can anyone tell where my signature is from? (It is slightly modified to fit the space).
