Ohh I love ancient Egypt, and The Museum is a great place to research it. Especially the temple of Dendur. Do you have the Don't Eat the Cookies special? They almost always have it at their gift shop. Say hi to Richard's ghost if you see him, hehe.

I like ancient Egypt too, but my midterm on that subject this week was a real brain-buster. For the huge paper, I'm going to write about protective amulets, tomb jewelry, ceremonial daggers and the symbolism behind them. Was originally going to do ancient literature and poetry, but I was concerned about being able to fill up 15 pages.

I did see a bit of the Don't Eat the Pictures special, but I don't have a commercial copy. Didn't know the MMA sells copies, but it would make sense. And I will say hi to Richard should I encounter him.

The libray where I used to live used to carry that, and I borrowed it from them. That is a classic!

Don't Eat the Pictures is classic Sesame Street, fun and educational, hehe. It really showcases The Museum and all the exhibits to see there. Plus, it's a typical Muppet mixture; mysterious and spooky, but still sentimental and sweet.

Yeah, I remember the scene in which the boy king's heart was on the scale with Big Bird's feather. I thought that was a little eerie and tense for a Muppet production.

Uh... You mean Prince Sahu. BTW: Erin, Prawny and I dropped off a few B-Day gifts for Storyteller Fraggle yesterday eve.

And I'm not sure if you know what happens should the heart being judged on the scales of Osiris is heavier than the feather, but LMK if you want to find out.

Oh, good grief...we appear to have forgotten all about it. How embarrassing.:concern:

Yes, if a heart on the scales of Osiris is heavier than the feather, the hapless deceased is devoured by crocodiles and other unsavory creatures. I had to do a whole essay on Egyptian funerary beliefs and rituals for my midterm.

Well... Sort of. Actually, the crature awaiting for her healthy hearty meal is named Ammut (spelling variations exist). Ammut is a female monster that has he head of a crocodile, the body of a catamount or mountain lion, and the lower body or legs of a hippopotamus. If the heart was heavier than the feather, she was all too happy to feast upon the hapless soul cast into her den down below.

Hope this helps. And happy B-day to Storyteller Fraggle.
