BEST RICHARD ARTICLE EVER.

Sorta. It's good. ^_^ Well worth the wait, thank you heralde. Nice clip too.

And also, this thread has been dead for 3 days. I think that's a problem.

See, I said it was better to wait!

Yeah, unlike other threads, we can't afford to go dead for very long. lol

Um...anyone ever see the Muppets on 60 Minutes? It's very good. At one point, Morely Safer comments on the muppeteers (this is from memory, so it's not exactly right), "All are extremely shy men, reluctant to speak...they find it easier to speak through the puppets, than with the faces God gave them."

I get the feeling he was excluding Richard from that observation though, as he's the only performer who is eager to speak (other than Jim and Frank of course, cause they always get interviewed). Lol His quotes are on the "Your Face!" site.

Obviously the special's very old and some references are quite humorous now. Like The Muppet Show is popular "on both sides of the 'Iron Curtain.' And Miss Piggy is a "thinking man's Farrah Fawcett Majors." The other stories in the episode included the whereabouts of the infamous Nazi doctor, Mengele.

Morely kept laughing through out his chat with Miss Piggy (I think most of us have seen that before). It got a little annoying for me after awhile, like "Come on, man! Get over it and interview the pig!" lol I don't think he would have made a very good guest star!

Above all, what I enjoyed best was seeing Frank, Jerry, Dave and Richard having fun with their characters during the interviewer. You can tell it came so naturally to them. (Steve wasn't there. He must have been on the show at that point, but I guess he wasn't considered part of the main group yet).

Let me get this straight: Richard Hunt? An extremely shy man? Or any of the other Muppeteers, for that matter?

Thou shalt not generalize, Morely. Nor shalt thou patronize. Or editorialize. Simply put, thou shalt just knock off the -izes.

And you're right, Marianne. When I saw that no one had posted on this thread in three days, I was starting to get worried.

Well sometimes actors are very outgoing while they're performing, or around friends, but not as comfortable when a stranger comes along. Though again, I don't think he was including Richard in that grouping. More that Jerry and Dave didn't appear to say anything in the interview, other than performing their characters.

As Frank says in the interview, "An unhealthy aspect of being an actor, of course, is to use that character or that puppet as a shield against the world. A healthy aspect is to be a completely rounded individual, and do this as a craft and art because you enjoy it."

Aww, we shouldn't worry too much if this thread goes a day (or 3) without activity. One of us will always come back and post something to get the rest of us going and posting more... we're just awesome like that! As is Richard.

Yeah, I think it's kinda cool when actors are generally shy, but they open up so much, are very outgoing, and get so into it when they're performing. But yeah, I agree. I definitely think Richard was so not like that. He sure seemed like an all-around fun, outgoing kinda guy!

Thanks for telling us about that, heralde! I had never seen the 60 Minutes thing, and it's very cool to hear about!

Yeah it doesn't bother me much either, we've gone through dry spells plenty of times. And it's usually pretty healthy to do so every now and then.

Glad you liked my 60 Minutes summary. Richard looked so happy throughout the whole thing. I do feel a little envious, he clearly found a place where he felt like he belonged. That's pretty rare.

Hello everybody. I thought this is a good thread to let my friends know what's happened with my internet deal.
I made enquiries explaining that I'm part of a chat forum and I hope to be able to get online freely during the day so I can get better sleep.
Sadly the deal that was only a couple of dollars more than the $8.80 I'm monthly paying isn't as good as it seems for there is a limit to the hours and or downloads I can have for free before it would start costing me a fortune.
The only deal that would suit me is the one with unlimited hours and downloads for $21.95
So I've left it at my night mega deal for now restricting me from 11pm to 11am with the risk of being cut off after 7am if I don't wake up in time or if the connection fails at anytime then. :frown:
But I'll consider my budget for the future and in the meantime at least I'm getting some better sleep in between midnight and 7am unless I'm working on my most important threads such as my Sailor Moon reviews.
You all mean so much to me and I hope I can change my pattern one day soon. Thanks for your support.

Aww Marty, I'm sorry to hear it's not working out the way you were hoping. But I am glad to hear you're getting some better sleep when you can! That's a good thing. I hope you can work it out and find an awesome deal that'll allow you to be on anytime you want sometime soon!
