Hey, nice to see you again, Amanda. How's everything going?

He bought something for the all the staff in the shop...wasn't that sweet of him? Bet the shop doesn't see people like him every day.
We always enjoy hearing about Richard, so we will definitely enjoy what your family has to share. I really liked this latest one.

Amazing story, Amanda. Thanks for taking the time to tell it to us.

Erin, that was a pretty accurate scenario, and would have definitely been amusing to see. Richard swinging a mike boom...Stevie yelling in a Wembley scream...

Thanks for the good luck, Skye. ^_^

Most probably you have Amanda. These threads tend to spin off to other topics from time to time by the direction of the conversation.

*Spins conversation spinner: OK... Right foot, Scooter's glasses prescription.
Discuss!

See? Now there'll be any number of posts on the subject after this.
Just the way the thread rolls. Oh, and here... Don't think we've offered any, so rude of us.
Here are some muffins for you Amanda. *MC reference.

Man, I wonder what Scooter's glasses prescription was. Hey, maybe the prescription was written down and stuck into the shoe on his right foot. Yep, there it is!

Amanda, thank you so much for telling us that story. He really was such a sweet and generous guy. We most definitely do enjoy all the stories that you, and the rest of your family, may be so kind and generous as to share with us, also.

Amusing for us, yes, but probably not amusing for them. But it is easy to imagine Richard, Kathy, Dave and Steve all screaming and diving for cover from the path of the baton.

I kind of see the logic in Richard not showing up at the shop until 5 in the evening; MMOA's shop is a madhouse during most hours of the day.
Once again: that was really sweet of him to give all of the clerks a present. I can't think of many people who would take the time to do that.

Right. All the clerks. That's amazing, sometimes there's quite a few in there. Ugh, he's so sweet. 5 in the evening, though? Cuttin it close, wasn't he.

Hi All!!

I thought it was about time I got back online and told a Richard story.....

Every year on Christmas Eve at 5pm Richard would show up at the Metropolitan Museum of Art store to shop for Christmas... they knew he would be there so they ALWAYS stayed open. Richard was a very LATE person,it runs in the rest of the family, I'm always early!! (He used to miss planes all the time too!!) Anyway, so once again Richard showed up (finally) did all of his Christmas shopping and since he felt bad for keeping the staff there late bought them all a gift as well!!! Very Generous! I just wanted to share his generosity with you! I've gotten calls from the family and shared all your enthusiasm with them... they think it is wonderful that you all think so highly of him! I told them all to think of thier favorite story so I can share them with you! Hope you enjoy them! I haven't gotten any message with questions lately, did I answer them all?????? Amanda
It's good to see you again, beakersbreakers, how have you been?
Great story... Richard's seems like such a generous guy!
Somewhere jerry nelson said he was late!
I gave you an email to your msn address, I hope you don't mind. Did it work?

Hi again, Amanda! Glad to hear from you again. That's a great story. The MMOA's gift shop is a great place for presents. Your story really inspires me to be more generous in general, you know what I mean?

A question, hmm, well some of the "Muppet biographies" I've read in books or the web, say Richard had an interest in puppets before joining the Muppets. But other sources say he hadn't used them before joining. To your knowledge, do you know which is more accurate? Heh, odd question, but thanks!

I was just thinking about how cool it would be to go down to the MMOA at 5:00pm this Christmas Eve with presents for the staff, pretend you came up with it, and freak em out a little. Like an "astounding coincidence".

Thank you for the story Amanda, it was vere nice. It was sweet that he bought presents for the staff, and it was funny how he was late a lot of the time and missed planes. I'm glad your family likes that we like richard so much!
