I should have my copy early tomorrow afternoon...and tomorrow night I'll settle in with a cup of tea and disc 1 (or the special features, depending on how impatient I am). It's been a long week; I've earned it.

Really? But we're so subtle about it!

It has been really quiet here today. But that's great that you got the FR DVD, Erin. And this weekend sounds so great... I hope you and your family (and your doggies!) have a lot of fun!

.
Oh, we will. The dogs love coming down to campus for a visit; Toby loves it because he gets a lot of attention from my female classmates...yeah, he's a typical male dog.
It's sort of homecoming weekend, so the six of us (that's the four humans and two canines) are going to sit on the sidelines and watch the big football game for a bit.

Ahhh.....I love my job!! I love it so much!!! My feet are on fire, but otherwise I feel wonderful.

When I got there, and started to work on the register, I went into "Oh my god, gotta rush them through or they'll get angry!" mode. Because at The-Place-That-Shall-Not-Be-Named, and Shumpert's IGA (another grocery store) people just bumrushed the counters/registers, and we had to really just slam them through to get it done.

But at 14 Carrot....it's peaceful. And usually quiet. And the people who usually shop at the store, are....basically it's as if everyone is Jim Henson, I guess. To put it in a way. If you make a mistake, they don't mind when you have to take time to figure out how to solve it.

A lot of the stuff is in bulk, so they have to get PLU code, a set of usually 4 numbers, that we type in, then the register weighs it and sets the price based on the code given, and how much it weighs.

Usually they forget to get the code, and they are so patient! I...I think it's my type of job. And you arn't made to do something every waking minute you're there. Now of course, you can't slack off. But...if there isn't anything at all to do, you can chat with the other person on the register. Or just walk around the store "fronting" the items on the shelfs.

("fronting" means to pull the items up to the front of the shelves where they can be easily seen.)

You can wear jeans and a tshirt and sneakers to work. As long as the shirt dosn't have anything offensive on it, they don't care!!! I...really love my job.
