Yeah, it's actually pretty rare for a hurricane to hit where I live.

Tornadoes, on the other hand... we get a "tornado watch" (in tornado season) on average about 1 every 2 weeks!

Hurricane Sandy, 2012. Twelve days, no power.
Makes you appreciate what you have when you get it back.

Out of rehab, into a hotel with a handicap room.
Safe so my hip can heal. No stairs.
It will take 8 weeks or so (3 down, 5 to go), but things are moving forward.
And God has His healing hand on me.

My family and I are going to Tennessee this spring! It'll be my first time going out of state, so this is very exciting for me. :excited::big_grin:

Y'know, something very similar happened to my family a couple years ago on the 4th of July, when my cousin and his mom were visiting. We got a really bad thunderstorm overnight (after the fireworks, though) that knocked our power out for two whole days. We all had to stay at a hotel until our power came back.
It’s a good thing you got to at least see the fireworks though.
