"The Muppets" Official Movie Trailer

Sorry if this is off topic, or already been said, but I was just watching E! News I think and they were covering this trailer and the movie's star-studded cameos! They mostly said cameos I had already known about, but the also said one I hadn't heard before: Katy Perry! So yeah, that one I hadn't known about, sorry if it was already confirmed. Either way, I wonder what this Russel Brand-spouse who sings about aliens and teenage dreams will be doing in The Muppets! We might just have to wait till November!

Well look at Sesame Street and how in the past 43 years it has had to change. Not only in the way it teachs kids, but in the way the whole show is ran. I'm not saying that the Muppets need drasict changes if they did a new Muppet Show but they do need some pop.
People are still into musical and on stage preforances or shows like America's got talent would not be as popular as they are.
I don't think the real problem is freshness or modernish I think the real problem is makeing good "family" programing. By that I mean something the wohle famly would watch. Kids, Teens, and Adults. That is what Jim Henson worked so hard on trying to make the origanl Muppet Show, and I think it worked and could be done again.

After seeing "Spidermonster" and a number of newer Sesame Street sketches, in my view Sesame Street is back with a vengeance...not just back, but funny on even a level a fan of SNL could enjoy(though I'll never accept Elmo as much as I love the craftmanship of Kevin Clash...crap, was Clash involved in any way in the Muppets? We want Clifford back!)

I kind of like sitcoms without laugh tracks because, well... the joke laugh, joke, laugh format kills character development and plot development. I remember Andy Griffen saying that about why his old sitcom was filmed NOT in front of an audience (the laugh track was added in).

I agree...and yeah sitcoms from the time of Honeymooners til the late 80's were pretty much stuck in the living room. Then Seinfeld came along, and completely turned the laugh track situational comedy on its head. Its why Seinfeld is and will always be my favorite comedy. My other top favorite sitcoms are The Big Bang Theory and The King of Queens...all three of those shows I can pick out any episode from my full season sets and enjoy the heck out of them. The only two non laugh track ones I like are The Office(which I love) and Curb Your Enthusiasm. I own all the episodes of Mad About You(which I still like, but admit its not always funny per se) and Two and A half Men...but admit a lot of those episodes are too mean spirited to fully enjoy.
I do have a soft spot nostalgia wise for Perfect Strangers and some other 80's sitcoms

Kids aren't exposed to older entertainment the way they used to be. Technology is trying to so hard to give people exactly what they want. Which sounds great, but it also means depriving them of things they wouldn't have found on their own, that they might have enjoyed.

Well I say thank goodness The Hub is now running Fraggle Rock. Been forever since FR was on tv

There have been reports that Clifford is in the movie in a small way, but hey at least he is in it.

I am almost entirely convinced that over-reliance on trying to be the next Friends (the most overrated show in history), and too many straightfaced characters turning to the camera and saying "nnnn-Check PLEASE!"

I wonder if she'll make a reference to her infamous Sesame Street appearance. Like maybe saying something along the lines of "The public can finally see me with a Muppet!" (I know, the public can see her unaired Sesame Street appearance online, but still...).

And I must wonder, what is it with Steve Whitmire's characters getting slammed in the door every 12 years? First it was Lips in 1987s A Muppet Family Christmas, then it was Bean Bunny in 1999s Muppets From Space, and now Kermit will get slammed in the door in this years film.

also bigs head slam is just looped 3 times..look at her hands and youll see it.

Ok, I've watched the trailer like 10 times and it didn't seem like Kermit's line is spliced in two. Sure there is a different camera angle after he says the line. I really hoped this line wasn't spliced in two because it's definitely one of the best of the whole trailer...and then I saw it... aw man!!!!

It's like a tiny little blip but after seeing it you can definitely tell that it's two lines spliced as one. It happens right before he says, "one person". Which makes me wonder, what did he actually say after, "maybe you just need..." The edit is really well done that you can hardly tell but once you see it, you can never, un-see it

I can't see the head slam loop that well though, but that doesn't disappoint me as much as the other one....

waiting until Thanksgiving to see this movie is going to be torture!!!!! So excited but so impatient
