Well to be honest I like the second description better. However I do find it madding how it seems like they are almost scared to mention The Muppet Show by name.

Well, Kermit and Rowlf were around before 1970. I doubt they'll be absent (and Kermit is on the cover).
Yes, I agree that Kermit and Rowlf will be there, as Kermit is a must, and Rowlf is one of the classic Muppet Show guys. But if his Jimmy Dean appearances were his only claim to fame, and Rowlf was never seen again, I wouldn't have counted on him being in this book.:sympathy: Same for Kermit if he was only in Sam and Friends and never seen again.

I simply meant, due to them saying something in the description like, "It has your favorite Muppets from the 70's to today", at least no fan will be disappointed in a lack of Sam and Friends characters (and others from that time) as they didn't promise any pre-1970 Muppets. I gave them credit for that

Meanwhile, my wish list would remain the same as my first post in this thread - and that includes Waldo C. Graphic from MuppeTelevision & Muppet*Vision 3D. Sure, he's CGI, but he's still a Muppet!

Oh I didn't realize that the official description had the "'70s to today" line.

I wonder if there will be pages grouping most species. I figure there'll be pages for Penguins, Chickens, Rats, and most likely Frogs and Pigs. But I wonder about other animals, like Dogs. There aren't really multiple Muppet dogs who look alike (except Muppy and Rufus). Obviously Rowlf will get his own page, we know that Afghan Hound will get a page (I would have expected her to be included in an all-purpise dogs page), and I'll be a little surprised if Foo-Foo, Baskerville, and maybe Muppy and Rover Joe don't get pages.

But there are some dogs who I don't think the fans know the names of, who I hope we get to learn the official names. Like a female dog who isn't Afghan Hound, a small brown dog (seen chasing the babies at the end of "Baby Driver"), and a young-looking yellow dog, not too sure how to describe him. I think he's one of the main singers from the "Fit as a Fiddle" UK spot, and in Country Music with the Muppets he constantly shows up to ask questions.

While looking at the Muppet Wiki forum, it looks like somebody had contact with the author and learned that the book will list first appearances of Muppets Tonight episodes by production order rather than broadcast order, and MuppeTelevison episode numbers for first appearances of characters who debuted on The Jim Henson Hour will go by a different numbering system from Henson Company files (the person who learned this isn't exactly sure what this means at the moment). Assuming it's the production order for the MuppeTelevision segments, it is exciting to finally know what the official production order is for those (I think The Jim Henson Hour is the only Henson series to have not had an episode list at Henson.com, where all series episode guides tended to be in production order).

And I guess that confirms that characters introduced on The Jim Henson Hour will be included. Though that doesn't exactly mean it'll have more than just Clifford, Bean Bunny, and maybe Waldo, but I am a bit more hopeful now (and of course Bean Bunny's first appearance isn't on The Jim Henson Hour, it's Tale of the Bunny Picnic).

Sigh, we have just one more month to wait (and probably a few more weeks for me, since book stores tend to get new releases a little later than the official date).

I wonder how some characters might be listed.

Like there's one monster who's been referred to by a number of different names, including Pokey. But I recently read on Muppet Wiki that that puppet has a tag labeled "Anthony", a name that I don't think has been used.

And I wonder if Behemoth will be listed by that name or as Gene. He was called Gene in some promotion for The Muppets, and Gene Baretta said on Muppet Wiki that that was suddenly the characters new name. Muppet Wiki still has him listed s Behemoth for the article page, since "Gene" was only used once, but just because Muppet Wiki lists the name doesn't mean the book will (though it seems many recent non-fiction books do research Muppet Wiki).

I just realised: This book is coming out on February 7, and that's a friday this year. Is it normal for books to come out on Friday's? I was thinking they were released earlier in the week.
