Contrary to The Muppets (2011), it was my understanding that The Muppet Theatre was located in New York City (despite having been filmed north of London). This was based on several references on The Muppet Show, but I can't remember them all now.

Anyone know any off hand?

Does this count?

WALDORF: Tell me the truth, Statler - do you get the banana sketch?

STATLER: No, I get The New York Times and The Manchester Guardian.

That's perfect, thanks! Which episode is that from?

There's also this from the Loretta Lynn episode: when Gonzo and Kermit are being taken away from the train station on the back of a train, Gonzo says they're headed for Pittsburgh, but they have to change trains in Altoona. Although the episode doesn't take place at the theatre, the geography works for close proximity to NYC. And when Loretta Lynn gets off the train, she assumes Scooter is there to pick her up and take her to the show.
