Hello there Mr Moppet! Your babies haven't they grown, there seems to be one less of them now though...

Anyway, have you got all these socks sorted yet - I don't understand how they want them done. By colour, or size, or how clean hey are. Besides, how are we supposedd to no how many socks normally go together?

You know, I really could not say. However *folding paper* I was of the understand that we were to sort them by smell, but my olfactory nerves gave up moments after the socks arrived.

*spots the corner of a note from managment under a pile of socks*

Well, first of all we had better put our shoes back on before we get ourselves mixed up.

I tell you what, why don't I take all of the left foot socks you take all of the right foot socks and we met in the middle. Maybe your son here could make himself useful and start by lying them all out toe-to-heel for us...

Right, left foot socks...no, wrong, right foot socks. Hold on. Let me get this straight.

*thinks*

Ok. Got it. Good idea, Mr Harvey. athough, if we were to begin by setting all the childrens socks in one pile, the lady's socks in another, and the sports socks to one side, and all pink and/or Simpson's socks in the bin, it would make life easier.

Also, all stripey socks should be banned. And band-socks should be striped.

*takes roughly half of the newspaper from Mr Moppet and sits down with it*

Hmm, what about spotty socks - I suppose that they should go to there doctor imediately.

That reminds me of an old joke:

Hold on a minute - every single one of these socks is defective - they all have holes in them them. Su-Zan - get a needle and thread at once!
