*picks up phone* Yes??

Picture this: No one's at home (other than the dog): Mother is in the kitchen, cleaning with music playing and she's singing to it. As the phone rings she turns it down so no one can hear. She'd never admit to it.

Oh thank goodness. It's me. Did you see what the dog did with my papers? Yes, the ones on that new project. The only copies, yes.

Hey mom, I got sent home from school! They said if you have to shave twice a day, you just can't be in the third grade... why did dad take my PS2 to work? And I don't want to go to obedience school! I'm paper trained... nearly... er, that spot over there was the dog.

Well, dear I don't know. I haven't seen the dog all morning *pauses* I'll try to find them *pause* *dog walks in covered in mud and goes back to playing the PS2* Oh he just walked in. Honey, you're gonna have to come and find them. *pause* Why? I think the dog just buried them. Now I've got to get some order into this house. Bye, dear. *hangs up phone.* *music goes back up*

Well, better call those people down at the cable station again. Hmm, wonder which kind she wanted. Oh well, I'll just pick up a couple of combo pizzas, that oughta be OK I hope.

*goes out into the garden, and returrns after ten minutes covered in mud with a hand full of perfectly clean papers*

*leaves for work covered in mud as though it were the most natural thing in the world*
