Hey Sean (MW)... Sorry for the off-topic nature of the post, but thought you'd like to know...
Like I said in your X-Muppets 1 story, WITCH's suffering the same season renewal withdrawal that affected The Winks Club. Well, TSF posted that WITCH Season 2 starts on 6/5/2006. Hope this helps.
I'm so glad you told me this, Count. And you'll know why when you and everyone else read this next chapter.

Chapter Nine

On the evening of that same day, there was yet another community meeting being held at the Holy Trinity Church for a rebellious group of mutants that were sick of the way humanity had been treating them. As of late, there were rumors of some kind of cure that the government had been conducting just for mutants. Many had taken this as a sign that the government had finally found a way to eliminate mutants, while others had a more positive view, believing that there was finally a choice for them.

Hearing about the “Mutant Cure” repeatedly on the news, Will Vandom and her closest friends (Irma, Taranee, Cornelia, and Hay Lin) decided to attend the meeting at the Holy Trinity Church to begin their investigation on the matter. They first wanted to see what the mutants thought about the cure, and since the church was so close to the Chinese restaurant that Yan Lin (Hay Lin’s grandmother) ran, they started there. To fool the other mutants into believing they were just like them, the girls attended the meeting in their guardian forms, wearing Chinese robes that Yan Lin gave them with their wings sticking out in the back to show off their “mutant disability.” Blunk, the disgusting green-skinned dwarf that was known as a “Pastling,” joined the girls to add more weirdness to their appearance.

“Blunk, try to stay by our side during the meeting.” Will ordered. “We can’t risk getting separated amongst a group like this.”

“Blunk gotcha.” He affirmed, as the small group went into the massive church that was overfilled with a mixture of angry and calm mutants. Blunk and the girls found one section of a pew that seemed like it was unoccupied, and when they went to that area and attempted to sit down, there were small horrified screams that had stopped them.

“Please don’t sit on us!!” A small voice cried, and Blunk & the girls looked down to see five small, colorful humanoid creatures that each had tails that bore a tuft of fur on the end. They had to be no more than twenty-two inches tall to Blunk and the girls.

“Aww! What cute little…uh…things!” Hay Lin commented.

“What kind of mutants are you guys?” Irma asked.

“We’re not too sure, but the other mutants decided to nickname us ‘Fraggles’ for some strange reason.” said the one creature that had orange skin, pink hair, and red fur; he wore a yellow sweater with purple stripes and a brown vest.

“But if you giants had gone down any further, we would’ve been called ‘Pancakes’.” said another that had green skin and fur, red hair, and no visible eyes; he wore a brown cap and scarf.

“Well, we’re sorry that our ‘gigantic’ butts almost squashed you.” Will said. “We just thought that this part of the pew wasn’t already taken.”

“Oh, that’s alright. We had a little difficulty find a place to sit, too.” said the creature with the light green skin, long nose, big eyes, and a big tuft of yellow hair on his head, wearing a banana tree shirt. “It’s so crowded in here that we had to be careful not to get stepped on.”

“You really shouldn’t be walking among people that are a thousands times more larger than you are.” Cornelia said. “That’s a good way to get yourselves killed.”

“Well, what do you suggest we do?” asked the yellow-skinned creature whose red hair was in two big pigtails and wore a red sweater. “None of us have abilities that allow us to grow the size of a Gorg mutant.”

“What kind of powers do you have anyway?” Taranee queried.

“Oh, we each have different powers that are greatly magnificent.” answered the fourth creature with the pinkish-purple skin and long turquoise hair, wearing a long grey robe-like sweater. “There is no mutant in the world that has the powers that each of us have.” This creature seemed to be the “den mother” of the five, possibly because of her caring nature or the fact that she was the oldest. “Red here is always so unnecessarily upset about her power, because she can grow the size of a Gorg mutant.”

“Mokey!” Red exclaimed, with frustration. “Why did you have to go and tell them that?!”

“Why do you hate your growing power so much?” Will asked. “You can always be the Fraggle that carries your friends, just so they won’t get squished.”

“Because it’s silly!” Red snapped. “Who wants to be the size of our greatest enemy? I just feel like a big freak whenever I use that power.”

“Oh, I wouldn’t be so glum about your powers, Red.” The light green creature said. “I’m the one who has the silly power of flight and leaping great lengths.”

“My God, it’s the Fraggle version of Superman!” Irma joked.

“Flying isn’t so silly, little guy.” Hay Lin said, and she pointed at their wings. “We do it all of the time.”

“Well, it isn’t so great when you’re always bumping into things.” The light green creature remarked.

“Oh, Wembley,” Mokey said, “With plenty of practice, I’m sure you’ll get the hang of it.”

“Wanna know what my power is?” asked the green creature with the brown cap. “I can heal anyone from any disease or other kinds of pain, except for myself. What a joke I am!” The W.I.T.C.H. girls couldn’t believe what they were hearing from the three Fraggles; they each had powers that were very useful, not only to other mutants, but to themselves as well.

“Oh! I can’t believe you all are so shallow over your own abilities!” Mokey yelled, in frustration, and she addressed the green creature. “Especially you, Boober! You have the gift to heal! That is a power that I would love to have!”

“I’d love to have your power, Mokey.” Wembley said.

“You don’t love my power as much as you love yours, Wembley.” Mokey contradicted.

“You’re right. I’d be even sillier with your power.” said Wembley, who seemed very quick to change his views.

“What is your power, Mokey?” Will asked.

“I have the ability to transfer my body and mind to anyone that I touch.” Mokey revealed. “I am not ashamed of my power, because I know that it’ll help me get to know the people that I inhabit for such a short period of time.”

“So, your powers take shaking hands to a higher degree, eh?” said Irma, who wasn’t quite sure if she could believe Mokey or the other Fraggles. “Well, I have to say that it’s really awesome to have gotten to know you, Mokey.” As a harmless joke, Irma extended her hand out to Mokey, who just looked at it and saw it as a way to “get to know” Irma. The Fraggle smiled, as she grabbed Irma’s hand; but before Irma could even shake it, she felt a bizarre sensation in her heart.

Irma, Blunk, and the other girls watched Mokey in shock, as the Fraggle’s body started to glow brighter and brighter, until she was nothing more than a pinkish-purple light that flowed right up Irma’s left arm and straight into her heart. Irma’s chest glowed and dimmed, while Irma herself fell backwards, with her eyes shut. Cornelia and Will caught her nearly unconscious body and stood it up straight, allowing her to collect herself.

“Irma?” Cornelia said. “Are you okay?” When Irma opened her eyes, there was a pinkish-purple glow in them, signifying that Mokey’s soul was within her.

“Oh, my!” Irma uttered, with Mokey’s voice, and she looked at Will. “You strangers have quite a history. You’ve saved our world for a tremendous number of times from a threat greater than that of a Gorg. This particular girl has a great power of her own; she can control water in the most magnificent way!” Mokey, while she was “inside” Irma, continued to mention a number of things out of Irma’s history, some of which was very personal to her. The only Fraggle that hadn’t revealed his mutant ability was the orange-skinned one with the purple hair, who was just shaking his head at the display.

“You’d better get out of her, Mokey,” He said, “Before you end up being one with her.”

“Of course, Gobo.” Irma/Mokey said, and she came out of Irma the same way that she went into her, sitting her back down on the pew and holding Irma’s hand, as if none of what just happened ever took place. Irma, who was freaked out by the whole experience, immediately moved her hand away from Mokey’s. “Whoa! W…What just…Did she…Oh, man!!!!”

“I’d also sensed that you did not believe any of us.” Mokey told Irma. “Do you now?”

“You better believe I do!” She exclaimed, just as Will’s attention was directed towards Gobo, who was very curious about him.

“What about you?” Will asked, and Gobo looked up at her, once he realized that he was being addressed. “What’s your power, Gobo?”

“Well…my ability a little more unique from the others.” Gobo said, and he looked closely into Will’s eyes, building up a strong hypnotic connection that she could not move away from, unless Gobo let her. The other girls noticed how quiet it had abruptly gotten, and they also noticed the way Will was staring at Gobo.

“Uh…Will?” Irma said, and she was about to touch her shoulder in an attempt to wake up her, but Mokey had stopped her.

“Don’t touch her!” Mokey exclaimed. “You’ll ruin the connection if you do.”

“What connection?” Cornelia asked. “What’s going on?”

“He’s seeing into her future.” Red told Cornelia.

“Wow! What an awesome power!” Hay Lin complimented, with sincerity. “It’s kinda like that guy out of that Stephen King novel.”

“You read that book, too? Neat!” Wembley remarked, and Hay Lin smiled at him, happy that the two had something in common.

“We’d better hope Gobo’s seeing into a pleasant future.” Boober said.

“Wh…What if he isn’t?” asked Taranee, a little concerned.

“Gobo has this knack for exploring.” Boober said. “And if someone’s future is pretty bleak, then you bet Gobo’s gonna find a way to get himself involved.” At that moment, Gobo had released the connection that he had with Will, and the two had stunned looks on their faces, after they both witnessed a future that they couldn’t believe.

“You and your friends have a good reason for being here.” Gobo said, and Will nodded. “Though none of you are actually mutants, your part in all of this matters most than anyone else’s.” Blunk and the girls couldn’t believe how good the Fraggle was with his abilities; with them, it was almost like he saw right through their plans.

“We just don’t want to see anyone suffer.” Will told Gobo.

“Of course!” shouted a voice from above, which was a little ironic, considering that they were inside of a church. All of the mutants looked above them to see a man with long blonde hair and dressed wildly, sitting on one of the wooden beams amongst the rafters. He was juggling small three crystal balls perfectly, without even looking at them; instead he was looking down at Will and the others. “None of us want to see each other suffer.” In a surprising move, the man moved his hands away from the crystal balls, but they didn’t fall; they just continued to move in a circular motion by themselves. “Unfortunately, some have already suffered.”

One mutant stood up and addressed the man; her name was Callisto, a beautiful, yet heavily-tattooed woman whose powers involved moving at incredible speeds and the ability to sense other mutants around her. However, she was a little surprised that she wasn’t able to sense the mutant that was above them all.

“And who are you?” Callisto asked, and before everyone knew it, the man’s presence had moved from the rafters to the platform stage at the front of the room, where he held one crystal ball in his right hand.

“I’m just like all of you.” The man replied. “I have witnessed enough hate and prejudice to convince myself that it was time to stop moping around like some twit and take action. But now I hear about some cure that the government is offering us. The same government that supposedly protects us.”

“Are you going somewhere with this speech, pal?” Irma said, and the man smiled at her, just before he tossed up the crystal ball that he was holding, allowing it to float in midair and begin increasing in size.

“I want to tell you all about this government that’s offering us this cure.” He said, and when the crystal ball was almost the size of the room, it stopped growing and started showing images of the raid that took place at Foster’s. “Our government established a strategic force, led by the infamous General Nick Fury, to see that this country remains untouchable for the next centuries.” As all of the mutants watched the images in horror, their reactions worsened as they saw how the Foster’s residents were captured and who it was that captured them. “This same governmental police captured these innocent mutants for no reason at all. And then…” The crystal ball then had shown an image of Spider-Man, Angelica, and Gonzo being blown out of a room by an agent of S.H.I.E.L.D. “They have the nerve to exterminate these three mutants…for what, I ask you? Because they were different from them?”

The W.I.T.C.H. girls were surprised to see that Gonzo was one of the many mutants that were attacked in that mansion. Neither of them had forgotten what they had gone through with him on Liberty Island, because they had made such a wonderful friend and worthy ally on that night. But their surprise had quickly turned to shock, when they looked closely at the images of the explosion; from the perspective that they had been taken in, they made it seem as if Gonzo had died in the explosion, which was exactly what Will and her friends believed.

“Oh, no.” Hay Lin uttered.

“No…i-it can’t be him.” Cornelia said. “Can it?”

“It sure does look like him.” Taranee said.

“No way! The G-Man is invincible!” Irma shouted, and she angrily pointed at the man who was showing them all the images. “This creep is feeding us all lies! I bet none of this stuff ever happened!”

“She’s right.” Will said, and she went onstage to address all of the mutants in the church. “How can we believe if any of this is true? He may just be trying to find some excuse for us to go out and start a body count of our own.”

“That’s not a bad idea!” One mutant yelled, and half of the mutants in the room agreed with him, while the others shouted in contradiction.

“No!” Gobo shouted, and the room fell silent when he spoke. Some of the mutants in the church had known the Fraggles for the longest time, and they had learned to respect them and their beliefs. Others, however, thought they were too peaceful, and that they had no place in their discussion over the “Cure.” “If the government really can cure us, then we shouldn’t waste this opportunity by starting some stupid war.”

“And what if they can’t?” asked an angry mutant with green hair and ashy skin. “What if they are leading us into extermination?”

“What if this? What if that?” Irma mocked the mutant. “Geez! You people are gettin’ paranoid over something that’s still developing. Why not just wait ‘til the government gets it finished, then decide on what to do?”

“Now that’s not a bad idea.” Callisto said. “I don’t know about the rest of you, but I’m not fighting until I have a good reason to fight. And as for our ‘friend’, he can…” When Callisto turned to where the man was standing, she and the others noticed how he was no longer standing there. They all looked around and realized that the stranger had disappeared from the church.

“Where did he go?” Red queried.

“Who was he is a better question.” Cornelia said, as Will stepped down from the stage and approached Blunk, the Fraggles, and the other girls.

“So what do we do now?” Hay Lin asked.

“First, we go back to the Happiness Hotel in Manhattan and see if Gonzo’s alright, which I’m sure he is.” Will replied. “Then we’re going to do more investigating on this cure.”

“Blunk can go see if Caleb has come up with something.” Blunk offered.

“Thanks, Blunk.” Will said, and she pulled out a walkie-talkie from underneath her robe. “Be sure to tell him that he can contact us if anything comes up.”

“Blunk can do that.” He said. “That’s an easy job for Blunk.”

“Yeah, just remember not to stop by any garbage cans on your way to see him.” Irma told Blunk. “What’s going on now is more important than a leftover hamburger wrapper. Got it?”

“Blunk got it.” Blunk affirmed, just before he dashed out of the church. As Blunk crawled down the sidewalk, the man that appeared in the church had appeared in a dark alleyway, watching Blunk carefully. Another dark figure soon appeared next to him; it was Magneto, who was also looking at Blunk.

“Ever since Liberty Island, those girls have interfered with several mutant affairs. And though they’re not mutants themselves, they’re a much stronger force than I’d imagined.” Magneto said, moving his gaze to his “friend.” “I don’t want them to be part of the opposing team this time, Jareth. Help them find a reason to join the Brotherhood and use their remarkable powers for a greater cause.”

“It shouldn’t be too hard.” Jareth told Magneto, as he glared at the crystal ball in his hands. “After all, I am the master of manipulation, aren’t I?”

Wow... This is getting so good... The W.I.T.C.H. team... The Fraggles as mutants... King Jarreth... In league with Magneto...
Rully hope for more soon.

Though, one small thing... When you introduce Mokey you say "the fifth Fraggle", but she's rully the fourth since an intro for Boober didn't come until they were explaining their powers. Maybe if you tweak it so one of the lines from the first exchange is delivered by Boober, presented in the same way as the other Fraggles, it'd be a smidge better.

Okay. Can you give me a quote to show exactly which part you mean? I'm a little lost.

EDIT: Never mind. I got what you mean, and I fixed it.

Also, I just wanted to point out that we've reached the part of the story where we come into the X3: The Last Stand storyline, so that means I'll be taking a long break after "Chapter Ten" or "Chapter Eleven" in order to see what happens in the movie (which comes out on May 26th--a week from this Friday) and make sure the rest of the story's chapters are close to the film's continuity.

Another short chapter.

Chapter Ten

Approximately seven hours had passed since the attack on the Foster’s mansion; it was nightfall, and Gonzo was still lying unconscious in the bushes located behind the mansion with Spider-Man and Angelica. He had regained consciousness in the seventh hour, waking up to an unbearable pain in his head and back. Looking up at the charred hole in the side of the building, Gonzo was amazed that he, Spidey, and Angelica had survived the long drop; of course, he believed they all had survived.

“Angelica? Spidey?” He said, and as he slowly crawled over to Angelica’s inert body, the young female mutant woke up with a gasp. “It’s alright, Angelica. You’re still alive.” Angelica was also amazed that she was; but from the wicked pain in her neck, she wished that she hadn’t survived.

“Oh…man!” Angelica uttered, rubbing her aching neck. “I can’t remember a thing that happened before we ended up in these bushes. I don’t even know how we got into these bushes!”

“We’d nearly died in an explosion…caused by one of those S.H.I.E.L.D. soldiers.” Gonzo told Angelica. “You, me, and…” He stopped and looked over at where Spider-Man laid, not moving an inch of his body. Angelica sat up and also gazed at the unconscious hero, just before she and Gonzo crawled over to him.

“Until today, I’d always thought anyone could spot the Amazing Spider-Man anywhere in Manhattan.” Angelica said. “But one can’t help to wonder why—out of all places—would he be in a house of imaginary friends, far outside of town?”

“Maybe the old web-head had a friend of his own?” Gonzo assumed.

“Unless that friend had a red cape and underwear to match, I don’t think so.” Angelica contradicted, and just as Gonzo and Angelica got near Spidey’s body, the masked hero suddenly sat up and put his head in his hands, signifying how much pain it was going through.

“You alright, Spidey?” Gonzo asked him, and Spider-Man sighed and moaned, as he slowly got to his feet and looked down at Gonzo and Angelica.

“It’s Peter, Gonzo.” He said, while he was taking off his Spider-Man mask and revealing his true face to his closest friends, whom he trusted enough to just come out and tell them. Angelica and Gonzo were stunned at first, and then they felt a little angry that Peter had kept such a big secret for all that time. But, fortunately, they were able to find a reason to feel happy that he was New York’s greatest hero. Angelica chuckled, getting up to her feet and smiling at Peter.

“So…I guess this means that you figured out who I really am, too, right?” Angelica asked, and Peter nodded, smiling back at her.

“Once I saw you with the fire, I knew that you had to be the same fabulous woman who saved my neck back at the warehouse.” Peter replied. “But what I don’t understand is why you didn’t tell me?”

“I didn’t know you then as well as I do now.” Angelica remarked. “I couldn’t just tell a complete stranger that I’m Firestar.”

“Firestar?” Peter uttered, pondering over the name. “Not as good as Spider-Man, but it’s catchy.”

“Not as good as Spider-Man?!” exclaimed an offended Angelica. “At least my name doesn’t come with a crappy abbreviation like ‘Spidey’!” Gonzo, who was beginning to remember the bigger things that were happening that moment in time, stood up and stopped the two from bickering any longer.

“Quiet!!!!” Gonzo yelled, and Angelica & Spidey refrained their bickering and listened to Gonzo. “My best friend and his nephew have been kidnapped, along with some other innocent victims! We’ve got to find a way to help them!”

“They’ve been captured by S.H.I.E.L.D.” Peter said. “We know that much.”

“But why would S.H.I.E.L.D. want to capture two frogs and a bunch of imaginary friends?” Angelica wondered, and the three thought hard.

“They believed that the imaginary friends were mutants.” Gonzo told Angelica. “But I can’t understand why they have such a strong fixation on mutants now.”

“It must have something to do with that cure the government’s developing.” Peter said, and Gonzo looked over at him in surprise. It was shortly after he left Xavier’s mansion when news about the “Mutant Cure” had brewed, and since then, he hadn’t picked up a newspaper or watched an update on television that could’ve informed him about it all.

“What cure?” Gonzo asked, and Peter & Angelica looked to each other; they felt it was their responsibility as mutants (Angelica born as one and Peter “granted” as one—courtesy of a radioactive spider) to inform the weirdo of the matter that was becoming more global each day.

“A company had announced, just a few months ago, of a cure for mutants.” Peter told Gonzo. “They say it’s supposed to solve the ‘problem’ that mutants have been facing for generations.” Gonzo was impressed; he never would’ve thought that there could be such a thing. He wondered what that could’ve meant for him, seeing as how it had been only a few months ago when he discovered his mutant abilities.

“Personally, the whole thing disgusts me.” Angelica commented. “I was born with my powers, and I intend on keeping them.”

“Well, though I’m only half a mutant, I use my powers to protect the city that I live in,” Peter said, “And I don’t think it’d be smart if I’d just given them up, without a second thought.”

“And I’m keeping my powers, because I’m going to need them to help my friends.” uttered Gonzo, who decided to come clean about his secret mutant life, after listening to the honorable remarks made by Peter and Angelica (who both failed to realize what he just said as soon as he said it).

“That’s the spirit, Gonzo!” Angelica exclaimed, truly pleased. “So why don’t we take a visit over to S.H.I.E.L.D. headquarters and tell them that they can take their cure and shove it up their…” Angelica stopped, once she and Peter finally realized what Gonzo said; they turned and gave him the most bewildered expressions that anyone had ever given him. Gonzo just smiled sheepishly, as Peter and Angelica sat themselves back down on the grass, still looking at the weirdo awkwardly.

“How long has that secret been kept?” Peter asked.

“Only a few months…same as you two.” Gonzo replied. “Please don’t be upset. I’d only kept it because Kermit thought it was best if…”

“Kermit’s in on this, too?!?!” Angelica interjected.

“And Fozzie and Rizzo.” Gonzo added. “They were with me during that whole incident on Liberty Island, except they weren’t exactly themselves.” Peter and Angelica couldn’t believe what they were hearing; Gonzo’s secret was more shocking than both of theirs combined, and they weren’t certain if they should’ve been happy or upset that the muppet was in fact a mutant.

“Well, I guess we should feel relieved that S.H.I.E.L.D. didn’t get you, like they got the others.” Peter stated.

“We should be coming up with a plan to rescue them.” Gonzo said.

We aren’t going to do anything except take you back to the Happiness Hotel, where you’ll stay until this whole thing gets resolved by Peter and me only.” Angelica told Gonzo, who wasn’t too happy to hear her tell him that.

“I’ve got a responsibility to keep, Angie!” He yelled, angrily.

“To whom?” Angelica queried.

“To Kermit…To Robin…To the X-Men…To all of my friends!!” Gonzo screamed; his voice was sounding angrier as he spoke. “I was with Professor Xavier and the X-Men when William Stryker attempted to eliminate every mutant on the face of the earth! If it wasn’t for me, you and Peter wouldn’t be standing here talking to me right now! You’d probably still be feeling those horrible ‘migraines’!” Peter and Angelica were a little surprised to hear him mention that; they remembered the day they’d felt those “migraines,” which felt like ten sharp knives stabbing their heads over and over again. They weren’t sure where they had come from, until that very moment; and it was very much a unexpected revelation.

“You don’t realize how much in danger you’re in, Gonzo.” Angelica said. “If the government gets their hands on you and plan on using you as their first test subject for their cure, who knows what effect it could have?”

“I don’t care about this cure!” Gonzo shouted, reaching the pinnacle of his anger. “I have to save Kermit…and Robin…” That’s when Gonzo began to feel a little light-headed; he lost focus on things, including his vision, as Peter and Angelica became a complete blur. He slurred his speech, mispronouncing names like “Kermit” and “Xavier” and misspelling “S.H.I.E.L.D.”

“Gonzo?” Angelica uttered, as she and Peter exchanged concerned looks. “Are you alright?” Gonzo gave them a slurred answer, as he suddenly dropped to the ground and fell back into an unconscious state. Peter and Angelica rushed over to check on him, and they strangely discovered that the weirdo still had a pulse.

“What happened to him?” Peter inquired.

“I think he’s still suffering from the fall he took.” Angelica assumed. “All of that anger must’ve exhausted the poor thing.”

“Well…you still think we should take him back to the Happiness Hotel?” Peter asked, and Angelica looked at Peter and then at Gonzo for the longest time, thinking of the right thing to do for Gonzo’s sake.

“I don’t want to see him get hurt, Peter.” Angelica remarked, and Peter knew exactly what she wanted to do. They carried Gonzo’s small, unconscious body back over to the Studebaker, which they were surprised that S.H.I.E.L.D. hadn’t confiscated from them. After placing him in the backseat, Peter gathered his clothes together and put them back on to cover up his Spider-Man costume. With Angelica driving the car, they drove in the direction of New York City, heading back to the Happiness Hotel. Just as soon as they were off the street, a manhole cover rose up and two sets of eyes (one yellow, the other white) watched the Studebaker closely as it drove away.

“Hey, Sweetums,” said the character with the white eyes, “I think Magneto’s gonna be really happy after he finds out about the mess that we’re gonna make on those insects.”

“You can say that again, Doglion.” Sweetums (the character with the yellow eyes) agreed.

“Hey, Sweetums, I think Magneto’s…”

Huh? Thought the manhole cover gag was in TMTM. And Sweetums and Doglion banded with the Brotherhood? Now I'm worried, Muppets against other Muppets... Well, not like it hasn't been done before...
Great chapter, Gonzo and Peter and Angelica coming clean with each other. Hope for more as soon as you can.

Chapter Eleven

“Hello?!” Gonzo cried, as he felt himself floating in a vast sea of blackness. “Can anyone hear me?!” He never felt so confused in his life. One minute, he was trying to convince Angelica Jones that it was important for him to rescue his friends; and the next, he was looking at complete blackness.

“Don’t be scared, Gonzo.” said a voice that sounded very mellow and groovy. “We’re just contacting you from the cosmos to give you an important message.” Gonzo recognized the voice; it had been a long time since he heard from or seen the person who owned it.

A large, bright light shined in Gonzo’s face and forced him to shield his eyes from it with his hands. Soon the light had been dimmed by a massive figure that appeared in front of it and floated towards Gonzo. The weirdo could barely make out the silhouetted figure’s features; all he noticed was a hooked nose that was similar to his own.

“Is…Is it really you?” Gonzo asked, smiling a little.

“Yes, it is really me, Gonzo.” said the figure, just before it was illuminated by another bright light, revealing the floating head of Ubergonzo—the leader of the alien race that Gonzo was a part of. After all the blue weirdo had been through in the past few months, he was very much pleased that his family found the time to contact him.

“Oh, I’m so glad you’ve reached me!” Gonzo exclaimed. “There’s a lot that I have to tell you…about me…being a mutant.” Ubergonzo smirked and shook his head.

“Gonzo, I believe that I must inform you that what you have been experiencing for three Earth months is not what your earthling companions notify as a mutation.” Ubergonzo said, and Gonzo had gone from being pleased to confused in a short period of time.

“I don’t understand.” Gonzo said. “I have these great powers that aren’t like any mutant on the face of the earth! I’m more powerful than Magneto or Xavier combined!!”

“Every generation has a gonzo that will experience such abilities on his or her thirtieth year.” Ubergonzo informed. “Tell me, Gonzo, when did you have your thirtieth birthday?” Gonzo thought hard about when his recent birthday was; he was terrible at remembering his birthdays and usually depended on Kermit or some other muppet to remind him.

“Well, let’s see…” Gonzo uttered, “I celebrated my thirtieth birthday…” Once he suddenly remembered the day, something unusual happened. The pitch-black atmosphere that Gonzo and Ubergonzo were in had transformed into an atmosphere that was more familiar to Gonzo…the Happiness Hotel’s kitchen. “What happened? How did we get here?”

“We’re in your history, bro!” Ubergonzo said, just as they noticed the “Past Gonzo” sitting at a table with Kermit, Robin, Fozzie, Scooter, Piggy, and Rizzo, while other Muppet characters stood around them. “Past Gonzo” had a beautifully baked birthday cake in front of him, as his friends sang to him.

Happy birthday to you! Happy birthday to you! Happy birthday, dear Gonzo! Happy birthday to you!” The Muppets sang, and then Johnny Fiama went into a solo that none of the others expected.

And many more to you, Gonz-Baby! Oh, yes! Many, many more!” Johnny sang. “Have a happy birthday, you wonderful whatever! Yes! Here’s to thirty more years of bein’ blue, kid!” Johnny bowed as if he was singing to an audience; but none of his fellow muppets, except for Sal Manilla, gave him any applause.

“Yeah, yeah! Great performance, Johnny! Love it!” Sal shouted, and Johnny raised an eyebrow at him.

“Stop clapping, Sal.” Johnny demanded, and Sal immediately stopped clapping, while everyone else turned their attention back to “Past Gonzo.”

“Blow out the candles and make a wish, Gonzo.” Robin said, and “Past Gonzo” smiled, as he closed his eyes and made a wish. The other Gonzo watched himself thinking hard about what to wish and grinned; he didn’t remember much from his thirtieth birthday, but he did remember what he wished.

“I can’t believe that I actually got what I wanted.” He uttered.

“What did you wish?” Ubergonzo asked, and Gonzo turned to his relative, looking a little sad.

“To be a superhero…like all of those guys that Kermit, Fozzie, and I wrote about in the Daily Bugle.” Gonzo replied. “Are you sure that I’m not a mutant?”

“It is like I had already explained to you, little brother,” Ubergonzo said, “Every generation has a gonzo that will gain cosmic powers that aren’t like any in the universe. What you are experiencing will only last ‘til your thirtieth year is over, and you will go back to being a regular alien.”

Gonzo was disappointed; he was really proud of his “mutant” skills, which earned him the title of “X-Muppet” from his fellow X-Men. Discovering that his powers were only the temporary result of a cosmic phenomenon in his family tree was quite a devastating revelation. However, he was a little impressed that he wasn’t the only one in his family who had been gifted with such amazing powers for a short period of time. Mutation was a subject that had a strong connection to genetics, which was the reason he got his marvelous powers.

“I may not be a mutant, but I’ve been granted something that I must use to save Kermit and the others.” Gonzo told Ubergonzo, who smiled at him.

“Your world is in great danger, Gonzo.” Ubergonzo said. “If you do not win the war that will take place very soon, you will risk losing everything and everyone you have grown to love over your thirty Earth years.”

“I will….as soon as I wake up!” Gonzo exclaimed, and he closed his eyes for a long moment and then opened them back up, expecting to find himself back in reality with Peter and Angelica. Unfortunately, he was still in the unknown realm with Ubergonzo. “As soon as I wake up!!” He closed his eyes again and kept them closed for a longer period of time. “Hello, Spidey and Firestar!” Opening his eyes once again, he was disappointed to see that he was still in the same place.

“You are not ready to wake up yet, Gonzo.” Ubergonzo remarked.

“Well, how am I supposed to save the world if I’m not in it?” Gonzo asked, feeling a bit frustrated. Ubergonzo closed his own eyes and focused hard on their surroundings. Gonzo watched in surprise as the atmosphere had switched again from the Happiness Hotel’s kitchen to the outside of the Happiness Hotel itself.

“You do not realize how dangerous your foes will be.” said Ubergonzo, whose head was reattached to his body, standing right next to Gonzo at the front of the Hotel. “This is what is happening now, Gonzo. I must warn you that you might not like the battle you’re about to witness very soon.”

“Battle?” Gonzo uttered, just as he noticed how the Studebaker was pulling up to the front of the Hotel. After it parked itself in the driveway, Gonzo was a little surprised to see how Peter and Angelica had stepped out of the car. “I should’ve known they’d take me back while I was unconscious.” Peter and Angelica went to the back of the Studebaker to take Gonzo’s inert body out from the backseat; but they only found a big surprise, once they opened the car doors.

“Uh, Angie?” Peter said. “We did put Gonzo in the backseat, right?”

“Um…yeah.” Angelica uttered.

“Then how come he isn’t there?” Peter asked, and as the two stuck their heads inside the car and looked around the empty backseat of the Studebaker, Gonzo turned to Ubergonzo, looking a bit surprised himself.

“Where did I go?” He queried.

“In order to prepare you for the upcoming war, I sent your body groovin’ into the cosmic realm along with your righteous mind.” Ubergonzo remarked. “After all, we do need to make you one bad fighting machine, baby!”

“But what did you mean by a battle that I’m going to witness?” Gonzo asked, and before Ubergonzo could answer, Gonzo noticed two huge figures stomping their way towards Peter and Angelica. “Guys, watch out!” Neither Peter nor Angelica had heard (or even seen) Gonzo, because his appearance was existing in another realm that they couldn’t see or hear either.

When the two figures got near Peter and Angelica, they grabbed them by the back of their pants and threw them into the backseat. The heroes’ heads slammed into each other, as the two figures closed the car doors, sealing them inside the car. Peter and Angelica looked around, dazed and confused, while the two figures began lifting the Studebaker high into the air.

“What the heck’s going on?!” Angelica yelled, and she & Peter looked through the windows to see Sweetums and Doglion grinning and glaring at the both of them.

“Ready, Sweetums?” Doglion asked.

“Ready, Doglion!” Sweetums replied. “Let’s take these wimps out!!!” With incredible force, the two mutants/muppets hurled the Studebaker towards the Happiness Hotel. Peter and Angelica both let out frightening screams, as the vehicle crashed through the front entrance of the Hotel and skidded down the hallway, until it crashed into the kitchen and stopped.

“Peter! Angelica!” Gonzo cried, and he ran into the Hotel, approaching the wrecked Studebaker, as it laid upside down in the middle of the kitchen. “I’ve got to help them!” He attempted to grab the door handle, but he was disappointed when he saw how his hand went right through it.

“You can’t help them, Gonzo.” Ubergonzo said. “You are not ready yet to face against these monstrous…uh…monsters.”

“Peter and Angelica can’t fight these guys either!” Gonzo exclaimed, just as the car door in front of Gonzo fell over and Peter & Angelica stepped out of the wrecked Studebaker. Their clothes were horribly torn apart from the crash; Peter’s Spider-Man costume could barely be seen beyond his ripped shirt and pants.

“Oh…my head.” Angelica uttered, grimacing in pain with her eyes shut. Suddenly, she felt something or someone grab her by the collar and yank her up off the floor; she opened her eyes to see Doglion, still grinning at her.

“Time to play, firefly!” He exclaimed, just before he threw Angelica’s body across the air, making it crash right through the door to the living room, which she and Kermit had renovated only a week ago. As Doglion stomped towards the stunned Angelica, she looked past him and noticed how there were still paint buckets sitting on the kitchen floor. “You ready to be squashed like a bug?!”

“I think you have me confused with the other character, pooch.” Angelica said, just before she used her powers to heat up the pool of spilled paint that was flowing onto the living room floor. The paint started bubbling and boiling, until it suddenly caught on fire, right near Doglion’s large, hairy feet.

“YEEOW!!!” Doglion screamed in pain, jumping madly around the living room. He jumped onto a nearby chair, thinking he would avoid the flames from there; but the flames found their way to one of the chair’s legs and caused the chair itself to catch on fire. “Whoa! This is nuts!”

“You don’t know the half of it, slobber-head!” Angelica yelled, right before she tackled Doglion off of the chair. She engaged in a rough fistfight with him, as everything in the living room began to catch on fire.

Back in the kitchen, Peter was still relieving himself from the crash, just as his spider-sense started tingling and warned him of an approaching danger. He looked up and noticed Sweetums’s large hands coming down on him. Thanks to his remarkable reflexes, Peter was able to dodge out of the way in time to make Sweetums’s large hands hit the upside down Studebaker instead.

“I’m gonna wring your neck, ya scrawny human!” Sweetums threatened.

“I’m not as human as you think I am, pal.” Peter said, and when Sweetums attempted to tackle him down, Peter leaped out of the way and attached himself to the ceiling, much to Sweetums’s surprise.

“HUH?!?!” He exclaimed.

“And this isn’t all I can do.” Peter said, just before he fired a strand of webbing from his left wrist, hitting Sweetums directly in the eyes and blinding him.

“Hey! What’s goin’ on here?!” Peter detached himself from the ceiling and used strength equal to Sweetums’s to tackle the ferocious mutant down. The impact of Sweetums’s large body hitting the floor sent a tremendous quake throughout the Hotel, as well as putting a nasty dent in the renovated floor. “I’m gonna get you for that!”

“You have to see me first.” Peter picked Sweetums’s body up and spun him really fast over his head, making Sweetums very, very dizzy. “Step on up, ladies and gentlemen! Ride ‘The Twister’! Your head’s bound to ache more than your stomach will!” Peter then tossed Sweetums across the air, throwing him through a wall and into one of many rooms in the Hotel. Sweetums landed on a Murphy bed that snapped back into the wall, causing the monstrous muppet/mutant to crash through yet another wall and land somewhere outside the Hotel.

“Way to go, Spidey!” Gonzo told Peter, who still couldn’t hear him.

Inside the living room, which was completely engulfed in flames, Angelica desperately tried to settle down the flames, as she continued combating with the fierce Doglion. But the battle was soon put on hiatus, as the weakening floor had collapsed and caused Angelica & Doglion to fall into the room beneath the living room…the boiler room.

“Oh…” Doglion uttered, placing both of his paws on his head and trying to get past the horrible headache he had, “I picked the wrong person to fight.” As he got to his feet, he looked over at Angelica and surprised to see how the young mutant had not fallen to the hard floor like he had. She was, in fact, hovering in midair with her arms stretched out and her head tilted back, eyes closed; she had an eerie grin on her face.

“Oh…man! Do you feel that?!” She asked Doglion, who was sweating under the room’s intense heat, which Angelica seemed to be absorbing. “It’s so hot in here!”

“No kiddin’!” Doglion said. “Ya mind if we fight someplace cooler?”

“No way.” Angelica remarked, as she straightened her head up; her eyes were still closed. “You see, the relationship that I have with heat is awesome! I never realized it before, but when I’m around temperatures that are ridiculously high, I…am…UNSTOPPABLE!!!”

The boiler’s safety valve was weakening, putting the boiler itself under intense pressure. Doglion could feel the room getting hotter and hotter on each word that Angelica had spoken; he noticed how her clothes were starting to catch on fire, but her skin wasn’t. He shielded his eyes when she became nothing more than a bright reddish-orange blur, still floating in midair.

“Angie?!” Peter said, as he noticed the reddish-orange light shining through the hole at the center of the living room. “Are you…?” Before Peter could finish his question, there was a great explosion that unleashed a massive shockwave that ruined the foundation. In an instant, the entire structure of the Hotel shook to pieces, collapsing into a huge pile of debris that buried Peter, Angelica, and Doglion. Sweetums was the only one that was spared, as his unconscious body laid near what used to be the Happiness Hotel.

Intense and action-packed, a great chapter. Really liked Ubber-Gonzo's appearance and prepping Gonzo for the real battle.

One little thing though.

You might want to change this to say she and Peter instead.

Hope this helps, hope for more story soon.
