Well... As I said in your Marvelous Posters thread... The degree of my current blindness and remaining sight are to the point where I rully can't see images on a TV or computer screen... And fine details on a movie poster fall within those parameters as well.
So I rully can't give you any feedback on that query one way or the other. Hope this helps though.

*slaps forehead* Man! Why do I keep forgetting that? Sorry.

The posters are basically the same image, but have different compositions. The image is of Spidey crouching near the window of a glass building, with raindrops falling over him. In one poster, he's wearing his red/blue costume, while he's wearing the black costume in his reflection. And it's vice versa in the other one.

It's really cool.:smile:

Chapter Eight

The first day (or second day, in the case of Mickey Mouse) without any wall-crawling, sorcery, or world traveling seemed to have been going well for Peter, Mickey, and Kim, who were each living their normal lives after giving up their duties as devoted heroes. Of course, there were some ups and downs to their new, regular lives. The downs being Peter having to wear glasses again (because his poor eyesight had finally returned), Kim forced to shut down her website (putting Wade in a situation to where he had to leave his house once in a while to do chores), and Mickey having to quit his job at the Daily Bugle (not wanting to be the news that Jameson was looking for the paper). The ups being that Peter was able to focus more on his college life and bring up the grades that were once slipping in his classes, Kim having the opportunity to teach more cheers to her fellow high school cheerleaders, and Mickey being able to take Minnie out more often and show her around the town.

However, the hardest thing for the three former heroes to maintain was their distance from disturbances, which they would’ve once jumped at the chance to be involved in. Mickey saw several squad cars pass through the area, while on a date with Minnie, and had to force himself to just focus on pleasing his girlfriend rather than helping others. There were times when Kim’s Kimmunicator would go off, like a cellular phone that someone forgot to switch off, meaning that either Wade was suffering from a force of habit or she had to change it from “ring” to “vibrate.” And Peter was forced to turn away from a brutal mugging that was happening close nearby.

Though the hardest thing had kept them wishing at times that they would return to their duties, the pleasures that came with the decision was always there to lift their spirits. This was especially the case one evening when Peter invited Jenny, Fozzie, Robin, and Rizzo to go see the final performance of Mary Jane’s play. Their appearance at the show surprised Mary Jane to the point where she almost forgot her line, which ironically was “I am glad.” After the show, Mary Jane met up with the five characters and took a stroll down Times Square with them.

“That was a marvelous performance, M.J.” Jenny commented, and Mary Jane didn’t once look her way, reminded by the incident at the Planetarium.

“It was such a great play.” Robin remarked.

“Thanks,” Mary Jane told Robin, “But you guys could’ve told me you were coming.”

“Hey, it wasn’t us.” Rizzo said, pointing towards Peter. “Sissy boy here was scared dat you’d tell him not ta come.”

“Rizzo, that’s it!” Jenny yelled, and she snatched the rat by the tail, picked him up, and threw him into her purse, where he squirmed and complained, until Jenny closed the purse and muffled the sounds. Mary Jane stared at Peter, smiling at him for the first time in a long while.

“You look different.” She said.

“I shine my shoes, press my pants, and do my homework…I’m actually doing my homework now.” Peter remarked, enjoying the time that he was spending with Mary Jane, after giving up his duties as Spider-Man. Jenny could see the happiness on his face and felt pleased to see that things were finally starting to look up.

“Hey, why don’t we stop by the diner and get some dinner?” Jenny suggested.

“Now there’s a great idea!” Fozzie exclaimed. “I haven’t had a honey and bologna sandwich in a long time!”

“Yeah, and I can’t wait to try out Pete’s new Lily Pad Pie.” Robin said, while Peter was getting excited himself, just thinking of the idea of him and Mary Jane at Pete’s, catching up on old times.

“Maybe I can just treat you all to pizza…your choice.” Peter offered, and Mary Jane knew exactly what he and his friends were trying to do.

“I’m getting married, Peter.” She said, and they all seemed very disappointed over Mary Jane’s refusal, bringing them all back to reality in a hard way. “You think just because you and your pals saw my play, you can butter me out of getting married?”

“We weren’t…” Jenny said, and Peter stopped her, allowing him to defend himself.

“You once told me that you loved me.” Peter told Mary Jane. “I once let things get in the way, because there was something I thought I had to do, but I don’t have to.”

“You’re too late.” Mary Jane said, much to her disappointment.

“Will you at least think about it?” Peter asked, unknowingly angering her by asking her such a question.

“Think about what? Picking up where we left off? I’ve got news for ya, tiger. We never got on! You can’t get off, if you never got on, Peter.”

“I don’t think it’s that simple.”

“Of course you don’t, because you complicate things.” Watching the two argue was very hard for Jenny, Fozzie, and Robin to watch, which was why Jenny had to step in.

“You don’t realize how different Peter is now, Mary Jane.” She said. “If you punch him, he’ll bleed just like a normal person would. You have to understand how important second chances are.” Mary Jane just looked at Jenny and then at Peter, thinking of the moments the two probably shared behind her back. And she wondered if the reason Peter wasn’t seeing her as often as he had before was because of Jenny, the “new love” of his life.

“I have to go.” She said, not wanting to let her emotions and beliefs get the best of her, as she went over to a halted taxicab and opened the rear passenger door. Before she hopped in, she had taken one last look at Peter and Jenny, paranoid thoughts still running through her mind. “It’s not just you who’s different, Peter. Everything else is, too.” And with that said, leaving Peter, Jenny, and even Fozzie and Robin confused, she went into the taxicab and left.

“Uh, I hate to bring this up at a bad time, but…are we still getting those pizzas?” Fozzie asked. “I’ll take mine with honey.”

“You know what I’ll take mine with,” uttered a muffled Rizzo, from inside Jenny’s purse.

Someone must’ve found the Spider-Man costume in the trash can, because the next day in Manhattan, the city awoke to the news of Spider-Man’s “retirement.” The front headline on the morning’s issue of the Daily Bugle read, “Spider-Man No More,” and even included a small article about Mickey quitting his job at the Bugle, mentioning his reasons. When Kermit heard the news about Spider-Man quitting, he was more disappointed about that than he was about Mickey quitting as well. It was enough to make him feel disappointed in himself for judging Piggy the way he did.

“What I am doing?” He told himself, after reading the article from his bedroom in the Happiness Hotel.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Things were not that pleasant at the Parker household either, as Peter revealed to May what had really happened on the night that Ben Parker died, after visiting his grave in the Hunt Cemetery earlier in the afternoon. May didn’t take the revelation well at all. The only thing she had done—shortly after Peter finished his explanation—was walk away and returned to her bedroom, not saying one word. Even when he wasn’t Spider-Man, Peter’s life seemed very hard to live.
“Ha! I don’t freakin’ believe it!” Shego shouted, as she sat by in an old wooden chair with a discouraged Drakken (who wanted to be really involved in Doc Ock’s restructuring of his invention, but wasn’t because of his lack of true intelligence) and read the recent issue of the Daily Bugle that mentioned Spider-Man giving up. “Check this out, Dr. D. Maybe it’ll put a smile on your face.” She tossed the paper over to Drakken, who caught it and read inside to see what was up.
“So Mickey Mouse quit his job at the Daily Bugle…so what?!” Drakken said, angrily.
“No!” Shego yelled, frustrated, and she pointed to the article that mentioned Spider-Man for Drakken, who read it and became extremely happy.
“Ha! Ha! Ha! Ha! YES!!!” He screamed. “Now things are finally starting to look up! With Spider-Man handing up the old costume, we are now free to take over the…” That’s when Drakken realized something else and became discouraged again. “Oh, wait. There’s always Kim Possible and that pesky mouse in our way.”
“You’re missing the big picture as usual, Dr. D.” Shego remarked. “Without Spider-Man, Possible and the mouse don’t stand a chance against us.”
“In a matter of hours, no one will,” said Doc Ock, who was nearby the two, making the final touches on his invention by placing the main supporting structures in place. Shego and Drakken stood impressed, as they watched the partially finished product of his new and improved machine, which was remarkably larger than the first version. “Just one more little chore that we have to do, and then the world will be ours.”
Harry stood in the den of his penthouse, drinking heavily while looking over several cut out articles of Spider-Man. His anger was growing more and more as he thought about the wall-crawler and the way he stood near his father’s dead body that one night. Next to that and his heavy drinking, the discovery of Kim Possible’s website being shut down didn’t help all that much, because it made him angry enough to believe that she had bailed out on her promise to help him find Spider-Man. He was all alone…at least that was what he thought, until he heard some knocking at the door. When Harry went to answer it, he was caught by surprise from an explosion that shredded his door to pieces and sent him reeling back.
“What the…?!” Harry shouted, just as he saw two glowing hands that reached up and grabbed him by the collar. Before he even had the chance to figure out what was going on, he found himself face-to-face with none other than Shego, who was joined by Drakken.
“Where’s the tritium, sweetie?” She asked, and Harry just gave her a confused look.
“What’re you talking about?!” He exclaimed. “Who are you people?!”
“That’s for you to know and for us to find out.” Drakken remarked, and he stopped for a moment, pondering over what he just said. “Wait. Is that supposed to be the other way around?”
“I’m callin’ security!” Harry threatened.
“Now, you see?” Shego said. “You’ve gone and made me upset!” Just as quick as she destroyed the door, Shego threw Harry across the room, making him land hard on the desk in his den, scattering all of the articles of Spider-Man. In mild pain, Harry reached into one of the drawers of his desk and pulled out a gun. He attempted to fire it at Shego and Drakken, just as they entered the room, but then something grabbed him by the ankle and pulled him into the balcony nearby, forcing him to drop his gun in the process. The next thing Harry knew, he was dangling in front of Doc Ock.
“Hello, Harry.” He said.
“Otto…” Harry said, “What do you want?”
“My precious tritium. I need more of it this time.”
“So the green woman and the blue man are with you?” Drakken and Shego were a little offended of the way Harry addressed them, but didn’t let it get in the way of their mission.
“Just hand us over the tritium, you little brat!” Drakken demanded.
“What are you people? Crazy?!” Harry exclaimed. “You’ll destroy the city!!”
“Where is it, Harry?” Ock asked.
“Forget it, Otto! You’re a…” Before Harry could finish, Octavius had the tentacle that was holding Osborn to position him over the edge of the balcony, dangling his body fifty feet from the street below. “ALRIGHT! ALRIGHT! I’LL MAKE YOU A DEAL! JUST PUT ME DOWN! PLEASE!!!” With a wicked grin on his face, Ock brought Harry back over to the balcony and roughly set his body back down on the floor.
“Can’t argue with death, can you?” Drakken asked Harry, who got to his feet and glared at Drakken, Shego, and Octavius.
“Kill Spider-Man…and I’ll give you all the tritium you need.” Harry said, soon before he made a quick second decision in his deal. “On second thought…bring him here…alive.”
“Uh, haven’t you been keeping up with current events, kid?” Shego uttered. “Spider-Man quit! He hung up his costume!”
“Argh!” Drakken grunted in frustration. “How are we supposed to find someone who’s retired and gone missing?!”
“He hasn’t quit. He’s just afraid…afraid that someone like me will get to him and eventually kill him.” Harry stated, and that’s when some names popped up in his head. “Peter Parker and Kermit the Frog.”
“I beg your pardon?” Shego said, obviously confused.
“They take pictures of the freak for the Bugle.” Harry said. “Make them tell you where Spider-Man is.” And after the deal was made, Doc Ock’s tentacles clung to the side of the building and carried him away, while Drakken pressed a red button on a controller that positioned his hovercraft near the balcony and allowed Drakken and Shego to jump in and fly away. Harry made certain to include one last thing in his deal, “Don’t hurt them!” After his three “visitors” disappeared, Harry began to wonder if he was doing the right thing. Then he thought about his father and didn’t care what drastic thing he had to do, as long as he had Spider-Man’s head on a platter.
Absolutely love how the story's panning out. A few little tweaks, but overall it's rully great. And picking up intensity as the villains head off to seek their next captives to foce Harry Osborne's hand.
Rully great, post more soon!
Chapter Nine
It was no easier being Peter Parker than it was being Spider-Man. It was hard for “the girl who can do anything” to do anything at all, when she had limited her list of things down to a minimum and found herself without anything to do on Friday nights. And Mickey…well, he was just running out of places to show Minnie around, which meant that he was running out of ways to be charming towards his one and only love.
The news that was coming all over the papers, especially the Daily Bugle, about how the crime in Manhattan was increasing up to seventy-five percent wasn’t helping much either. No matter where Kim, Mickey, or Peter went, they will always be reminded of the duties that they had given up, in order for them to live “normal” lives. But how could they consider the future, when the past kept haunting them?
On the same evening that Ock, Shego, and Drakken paid a visit to Harry, Peter had run into Mickey and Kim, as they were standing near a newsstand, staring at the recent issue of the Daily Bugle, and talking about the front headline on it. Peter was happy to have seen them there, because he could really use some friends to talk to that moment, especially ones that knew all about his secret. He was about to go over to that newsstand and walk right into the middle of their conversation, until the three of them and everyone else heard the sound of a woman screaming in Taiwanese. Just as quick as they realized that they were in the same area, the three heroes rounded a corner and came across a burning four-story apartment building.
“Oh, no!” Mickey cried, and Peter—out of a force of habit—reached up to rip open his shirt, only to realize that his Spider-Man costume was no longer underneath it, reminding him of the decision that he and his friends made. Seeing the burning building in front of him, he was about to turn away from the disaster, just as he had been for the past few days, until Kim stopped him.
“No!” She yelled. “We cannot turn away from this!”
“It’s not any of our concern.” Peter told Kim, making her very angry and disappointed in Peter. Both she and Mickey knew what they had promised, but didn’t let it break their conscience. And without saying another word, the two of them ran towards the burning building, leaving Peter behind to decide what the right thing to do was. While Mickey held back the crowd of people who once lived in the apartment (including a Taiwanese couple that was looking for their daughter), Kim stepped through the flaming entranceway.
“Is she crazy?! She’s gonna be killed!” One former resident yelled, just as Mickey addressed and calmed him down.
“It’s okay.” He said. “She knows what she’s doing.”
Seeing the way Kim had dashed into the burning building helped Peter realize that what Sean Thomas had said was the truth. Honesty, fairness, and justice were not just three of the things that defined heroes; they defined ordinary people as well. And though he was without any powers at the moment, he could still be a hero. So without making a second thought, Peter ran up to Mickey and the crowd of former residents, stopping to address one of them.
“Is anybody in there?” He asked a man.
“We think there’s a kid stuck on the second floor.” The man replied, just before Peter left his side and entered the building himself, much to the surprise of Mickey and the former residents.
“Peter! Wait!” Mickey shouted, but Peter was already inside by the time the mouse had cried out to him.
Inside the burning building, Kim had dodged several flames, as she tried desperately to find any people left inside the inferno. The dangerous atmosphere reminded her so much of old missions that she went on, and even brought back the old adrenaline rush that would course through her body while striving to accomplish her task. As she reminisced, she heard the sound of a child crying from above and realized that someone was left inside the burning building.
“Kim!!” Someone shouted, and she turned to see Peter, coming up a flight of stairs and joining her in the search. Kim knew that he would come, and she would be jumping with joy, if it were for the intense heat and smoke that surrounded them. “There’s someone on the second floor…a kid.”
“Yeah, I hear her.” Kim remarked, and she sounded to the unseen child. “Don’t be scared! We’re coming to get you!” Kim and Peter went up another flight of stairs, before they finally heard the child’s screams grow louder. They spotted a closed door nearby, which was the direction the screams were coming from. “There!!” Peter ran up to the door and shouted to the girl from outside.
“I’m coming!!” He said, and then, with all of his might, he rammed his body against the hard door, only to bring a great deal of pain to his shoulder in the process. “Ah! Okay…new plan.” Kim rolled her eyes, not wanting to get herself worked up over Peter’s lack of “spider strength.” While Peter rubbed his aching shoulder, Kim used her own strength to kick down the door. The two went inside the room, dodging more flames and burning bits of debris that showered over them as they looked for the child.
“Where is she?!” Kim yelled, just as Peter heard the screams from within a nearby closet.
“She’s in there!!” He pointed to the closet door, which Kim immediately opened and, past the hung clothing, she discovered the frightened girl.
“Shh. It’s okay. Everything’s alright.” Kim said, and while she was comforting the child, Peter reached in and picked her up. With the girl rescued, there was only the matter of escaping from the inferno left, which proved to be a challenge, with all of the flames shooting towards them.
“It’ll be impossible for us to get out of here.” Peter said, and hearing those words come out of his mouth brought a confident grin on the face of Kim.
“Impossible? Ha!” She said. “Check my name.” And when she turned to go down the hall that led to the flight of stairs, the floor gave way, leaving a huge gap between them and the flight of stairs. “I’m seriously considering changing my name now.” Peter looked left and right to see if there was any other path they could down in, only to realize that there wasn’t. He looked back at the gap and used his intelligence (which seemed to be the only thing he had left in him) to determine the jumping range.
“We can make it.” He said, after doing the math, and Kim turned to him in surprise, wondering if he was one hundred percent certain. “Trust me.” With no other choice, Kim did just that, as she turned back to the gap. She closed her eyes and shook her head for a moment, before she reopened them and took one giant leap over the gap. She barely made it, nearly tripping over the edge on the other side. Kim turned back to Peter and smiled, urging him to go ahead and try.
“You can do it, Pete!” She said, and Peter knew that he couldn’t, but knew that he had to for the sake of the child that he was holding in his arms. Taking a few steps back and a few deep breaths, Peter braced himself for the jump of his life. Finally, he ran across the floor as fast as he could, and when approached the edge, he jumped as high as he could. Peter soared across the air, looking as if he still had his spider abilities in him, and once his feet hit the floor on the other side, it suddenly broke away and caused him to immediately reach up and grab the edge. “Peter! Hold on!!”
“Do I have a choice?!” He cried, right before he tossed the girl to Kim, who instantly caught her and settled her down on the floor, while she attempted to help pull Peter back up.
“You’re gonna have to help me out, Pete. I’m not as strong as you…were.” Kim said, and Peter did all the best he could to ease her struggle, just as the girl that the two rescued had pitched in to help. Together, they were able to bring Peter back up to the floor and escape in time for the entire first and second floors to collapse. As soon as the two made it outside with the child, both Mickey and the Taiwanese couple were happy to see them all alive.
After the fire department had arrived and were able to put out the fire, Kim and Peter were treated by some paramedics, who helped clear out their lungs of the smoke that they had accidentally breathed in. Mickey was standing near them, truly excited over their heroic deed, as they were fed clean air through an oxygen tank and mask. During their recovery, Kim’s parents and younger brothers arrived at the scene. As soon as Kim’s family jumped out of their SUV, they immediately went up to their daughter and sister.
“Kimmie, are you alright?” Mrs. Dr. Possible said, checking over her body, past her torn clothing, for any signs of injuries.
“Mom, I’m fine. I’m okay.” Kim said, as her brothers and father approached her, Peter, and Mickey.
“Hey, Kim,” Jim Possible said, gleefully. “Did you really just go into that burning building?” Kim couldn’t believe Jim would ask her a question like that.
“No, Jim. I just decided to tear my clothes apart and pretend like I went into a burning building.” Kim said, sarcastically, as her father came up to her, with a demanding attitude.
“Kimberly Ann Possible,” He said, and whenever he said her full name like that, she knew she was in trouble. “I thought we agreed that there would be no more perilous rescues.”
“I had to, Dad.” Kim remarked. “I couldn’t just let that little girl burn in there.” When Mr. Dr. Possible heard how there was a child involved, he refrained from any further complaints, understanding why Kim would break her promise.
“It’s just good to see you safe, Kimmie-Cub.” Her father uttered, and she smiled at him, just as a fireman came up and congratulated Kim and Peter.
“You kids have got some guts.” The fireman commented, before another fireman came up to him and revealed some unfortunate news.
“Some poor soul got trapped on the fourth floor…never made it out.” The news was enough to bring down the spirits of the Possibles, Mickey, and especially Peter. Had there been teamwork handled and more super-powered heroes involved, there would have been more than one resident saved that night. “You were wrong about one thing, Sean,” Peter thought, “Ordinary people can only do half of what super heroes can do.”
And that's why I like these crossovers. You bring us chapters like this one where it's straight out of the movie itself, with the added characters of course. A perilous rescue indeed... But at least now the heroes are considering getting their heads cleared and rejoining the fray.
Post more soon, look forward to it.
I'm glad you enjoy them, Count.:smile:
Speaking of the movie, it premieres tomorrow night on FOX. I read on SuperHero Hype!.com that they're possibly going to have a sneak peek of the upcoming third movie during its airing. Now I have a greater reason to watch it (or maybe even tape it, even though I have it on DVD).
Chapter Ten
Kermit needed to get his mind off of the things that had been troubling him about Mickey and Piggy. So he decided to take a visit over to Peter’s apartment to do so, with Robin there along with him, and he was surprised to have found Mickey there himself. Before any of them had the chance to talk their problems over, Peter got message from Aunt May that was given to him by his landlord’s daughter. The message was about Peter’s last visit, and he knew that he had to get to his old house right away, so he took Kermit, Mickey, and Robin with him.
When the four arrived in Queens, Peter went to talk with his aunt, who was packaging things up after finding a small apartment somewhere in town (despite being given a few extra weeks on her foreclosure notice), and Robin went with him to make friends with a boy who was helping May named Henry Jackson. Meanwhile, Kermit and Mickey decided to have their talk, which the both of them admitted to needing to have.
“I heard that you and Piggy decided not to see each other for a while.” Mickey said. “You, uh, mind if I ask why?” Kermit hesitated, but knew that he couldn’t hide his thoughts and emotions from Mickey anymore.
“It was about you, Mickey.” The mouse looked at the frog in surprise, several questions going through his mind, and only one coming out through his mouth.
“What did I do to break you and Piggy up?”
“It wasn’t so much as what you did, Mickey. I just let my paranoia get the best of me and accused Piggy of falling in love with you, after you rescued her from Doc Ock.” At that point, Kermit expected the mouse to go into a tantrum and defending himself, saying that he’s crazy for thinking that, especially when he had a girlfriend of his own to consider. However, all Mickey had done was laugh, pleasing Kermit a little.
“That…Ha, ha! That has…Ho, ho! Kermit…buddy…you really made my week with that one!” Mickey placed one hand on Kermit’s shoulder and the other over his chest, trying to compose himself from his hysterical chuckling. Though Kermit was happy to see that his old F.A.S.A. buddy wasn’t letting the misunderstanding bother him, he wished that the mouse would control himself, seeing how everyone in the neighborhood was looking their way.
“Okay. Okay. It’s not that funny.” Mickey began to slow down, wiping away the tears that had welded up in his eyes.
“I’m sorry, Kerm. It’s just that the thought of me and Piggy…” He looked at Kermit, who was starting to form an angry look on his face, and immediately changed the subject. “So…uh, how do you plan to patch things up between you two?”
“That’s the big problem. I was so upset that night at the Planetarium that I wouldn’t be surprised if she chopped me back to Sesame Street.”
“Wow. Now this is starting to sound serious.”
“Tell me about it. Before I found you at Peter’s apartment, I actually believed the hard part was telling you that I’m sorry.”
“Well, I see no reason you should be apologizing to me. Everybody makes mistakes, Kermit…even me, and I’m Mickey Mouse! It’s just learning from those mistakes that make us stronger.” Hearing himself say that helped Mickey understand something very important. Just because he didn’t have his sorcerer hat didn’t mean that he was hopeless. He remembered the times when he put on the hat and robe and how much he did what he did for not just for the thrill of saving lives and making change, but for the love of his girlfriend, Minnie Mouse. “And I see now that it’s not the hat that gives me the power. The magic comes from within here.” As Mickey pointed to his chest, Kermit gave him a peculiar look.
“Uh, Mickey? Did you just change the subject?”
“Not at all, Kermit. In fact, I think I just found the solution to your problem.”
“You have?! Well, tell me! Tell me!”
“Just listen carefully…”
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

It seemed as if the visit to Aunt May couldn’t have come at a better time, seeing as how both Mickey and Peter were given advice good enough to help them consider becoming heroes again and forming the partnership that they knew they were meant to share. So, the next day, Mickey decided to meet with Kim at Pete’s Diner, at the same time Kermit and Mary Jane had arranged to meet Piggy and Peter there as well. Only Kim and Peter had arrived at the diner, leaving Kermit to wonder if Piggy was still upset with him. As he continued waiting for her, he was surprised to see three familiar faces show up: Fozzie, Robin, and Kermit’s old producer friend, Ronnie Crawford, who Fozzie and Robin had run into and decided to have lunch with.

“Hey, Kermit.” Fozzie said, truly excited. “You’ll never guess who we just met.”

“Ronnie Crawford?” Kermit remarked, impressing Fozzie.

“How did you know?!?!” Fozzie exclaimed.

“Uh…m-maybe it’s because he’s in the room with us, Fozzie.” Robin said, and when Fozzie realized that Ronnie was standing right near them, he jumped in surprise.

“Oh!” Fozzie said, while Ronnie approached Kermit at the table he was sitting at, shaking his hand.

“Hey, Kermit.” Ronnie said. “How’ve you been holding up?”

“Uh…just fine, Ronnie. Just fine.” Kermit replied, and Fozzie, Ronnie, and Robin noticed the discouraged look on his face, as he kept looking towards the window.

“What’s wrong, Uncle Kermit?” Robin asked. “Aren’t you glad to see Mr. Crawford?”

“Oh, I’m thrilled to see him again, Robin.” Kermit remarked. “It’s just that…”

“Of course! The foreclosure!” Fozzie interjected, and Kermit wanted to tell him that wasn’t it, but Ronnie’s interjection kept him from doing so.

“Foreclosure?” He said. “What are you guys going to lose?”

“The Happiness Hotel.” Robin told Ronnie, who was really disappointed to hear that.

“Wow. That’s tough.”

“Tell us about it.” Fozzie said.

“When is the deadline to pay it off?” Ronnie asked.

“December 25th, 2006.” Kermit replied, and Ronnie was surprised over the due date.

“Christmastime?! Well, that doesn’t make any sense.”

“It does, if your name is Rachel Bitterman.” Kermit remarked, and Fozzie and Robin still cringed at the sound of that name, ever since she tried to foreclose the Muppet Theatre on the Christmas of 2002. But that time they heard it, a chill went down both of their spins.

“Uncle Kermit,” Robin said, “Don’t tell us that greedy lady is threatening to foreclosure the Happiness Hotel this time!”

“I’ve done the research, Robin…and I’m afraid it’s true.” Kermit said. “If we don’t pay Miss Bitterman off by Christmas of next year, then she’ll take away the Hotel and replace it with some scandalous nightclub.”

“Scandalous nightclub?!” Ronnie exclaimed.

“Long story.” Kermit uttered, and Ronnie shook the thought out of his head, long enough to ask some more important questions.

“Well, I’m sure you’ll have the money ready by then, seeing as how you’ve got your performances at the Muppet Theatre and your broadcasts at the KMUP station to help raise it all.” Ronnie assumed, and when he saw how Fozzie, Kermit, and Robin lowered their heads in despair, he had finally reached the peak of disbelief and sorrow. “Oh, come on! They’re your last hope!”

“They were until the Hulk wrecked the station.” Fozzie said.

“And few people started coming to the Theatre.” Kermit added. “But if we had something just as good as Manhattan Melodies was years ago, then more people would start being interested again and we would earn enough to pay Miss Bitterman.” What Kermit just said gave Ronnie a terrific idea that he was certain would help the Muppets save their hotel. As he began to share it with them, Jenny looked from their direction, obviously pleased to Ronnie come back to the diner again, and then looked towards Peter and Mary Jane, who were having the talk that they desired to have for quite a while. It also pleased her to see Mary Jane willing to work things out with Peter, she being the one who contacted Peter and suggested for them to meet at the diner of all places.

“Jenny!” Pete shouted, and she immediately turned to her father, who reminded her of her waiting duties by pointing to the tables.

“Oh, right. Sorry.” She said, glad that Pete reminded her, seeing the opportunity of eavesdropping a little on Peter and Mary Jane’s conversation. She walked over to their table, just as they began.

“You know how our minds play tricks on us? Well, mine’s sure did a number on me, especially after the show that night.” Mary Jane said, and she stopped once Jenny approached their table. “Hi, Jenny.” The pleasant way in which Mary Jane addressed her had surprised the young waitress a little, just as it had Peter. It seemed to them both that Mary Jane was finally beginning to accept Jenny’s company and not jump to any conclusions so quickly.

“H-Hi, Mary Jane.” Jenny responded, trying to focus on her job. “What will you two have this afternoon?” Mary Jane looked at Peter for a moment, and when she gave Jenny her order, she smiled at her brightly. “I think pizza sounds nice.” Jenny smiled back at Mary Jane, as she wrote the order down.

“One pizza…coming right up.” Jenny said, and as she walked away from the table, she realized that she was so excited that Mary Jane was talking to her that she completely forgot to ask what kind of pizza they wanted. “I’ll just surprise ‘em,” she thought, while heading to the back of the counter.

“Jenny’s a really good friend.” Peter told Mary Jane, who nodded her head in agreement, feeling disappointment in herself for thinking differently.

“I should’ve known better than to question your friendship like I did. I was jealous, and I just thought you were trying to get past me. I thought you were trying to have something with Jenny that you could’ve had with me.” Peter just smiled at Mary Jane, seeing how much she wanted things to go back to the way they were by the expressions on her face.

“It’s not too late, you know.” She just looked back at him, warmed by his friendly face yet troubled over his inner thoughts.

“Some part of me heard what you had to say that night…that you were different…but I didn’t want to listen. I was afraid to trust you. But I’ve been thinking about it…”

“Listen,” Peter interrupted, “There’s more that I have to say.” He was quiet for a moment, before he brought himself to just say what needed to be said. “I might’ve rushed into things. I thought…”

“Wait a minute. What’re you saying?” Peter was quiet again; it was very hard for him to talk to her, while under so much stress.

“I…I’m saying…I thought I could be there for you, Mary Jane. But I can’t. My mind was playing tricks, too.” She could see the distress in his eyes. It confused her why he just couldn’t come out with his feelings and tell her what he wanted. Tired of all the struggling, she just asked him the big question right away.

“Do you love me…or not?” Peter stared in her eyes, silent for a long time, thinking carefully of an answer before saying it.

“I…” He slowly looked down, as he uttered the last word, “…don’t.” Mary Jane looked down as well, disappointed and on the verge of tears.

“You don’t.” She looked up again and held back the tears, long enough to be able to make an important request. “Kiss me.” Peter looked up again himself, staring at her in confusion and surprise. “I need to know something. Just one kiss.” She reached forward and touched his hand, obviously serious about her proposal. Whether Peter wanted to or not, he was going to kiss her, because she was leaning in before he had.

But just as the two were about to kiss, a familiar sensation came over Peter that wasn’t from the moment he and Mary Jane were sharing. He suddenly dived forward and grabbed Mary Jane, pushing her out of the way just in time for a black vehicle to crash through the window of Pete’s Diner and force everyone from Mickey to Kermit to duck for cover. Pete, Pepe, Rizzo, and several other rats ducked into the kitchen, while the flying car crashed into the front counter.

“What is going on here?!” Pete yelled, from inside the kitchen, while several of the costumers got to their feet and dusted themselves off, each wondering what had happened. But there questions were soon answered, as they all began to feel massive tremors that were all too familiar to Peter, Kim, Mickey, Kermit, Fozzie, and Robin.

“Oh, no.” Fozzie uttered. “Not again!” They couldn’t see what the cause of the tremors was, but did see several citizens outside the diner, running for their lives.

“What’s happening?” Ronnie asked, just as two mechanical tentacles appeared, stomping their way towards Pete’s Diner and carrying the infamous Doc Ock. At the same time he had come inside the diner, Drakken’s hovercraft landed behind him, with none other than Dr. Drakken and Shego behind the wheel.

“Well, well, well!” Drakken said, looking left and right at Pete’s Diner. “I was expecting someplace more exquisite…like McDonald’s!” Drakken laughed at his own heartless joke, while Ock grinned at the people before him, including Peter and Kermit.

“Hello, my friends.” He said, and as his eyes went towards Mary Jane, Peter stepped in front of her for protection.

“What do you want?” He asked Ock, just before he lashed a tentacle out at Parker, grabbing him by the throat and pulling him closer to Ock. When Mickey and Kim attempted to go after him, they were stopped by Shego, who leaped out of the hovercraft and landed right inside the diner, snatching Kermit and positioning her glowing right hand over his face.

“Take one more step, and I’ll show you why it’s not easy bein’ green or mean!” Shego threatened, and Mickey & Kim kept themselves where they were, as Ock attempted to get some cooperation out of Peter.

“I want you to find your friend, Spider-Man.” He told him. “Tell him to meet me at the Westside Tower at three o’clock.”

“But I don’t know where he is.” Peter said, and Ock looked towards Shego, who still had her hand near Kermit.

“What about you, Frog?” Shego asked. “You know where the web-head is?”

“Uh, no.” Kermit told Shego. “But…listen…why do we have to fight? I mean, this green-on-green violence needs to stop somewhere!” Shego just rolled her eyes, just as Drakken looked towards Kim and Mickey and attempted to get some answers out of Spider-Man’s “amazing friends.”

“Well, I’m sure Kim Possible and the mouse would know where he is.” He said, and the two kept quiet, just glaring at Drakken and making him incredibly upset. “No?! Then we’re takin’ the frog!!!” Kermit screamed in terror, as Shego flipped back inside the hovercraft, with the frog in her grasps.

“Uncle Kermit!!” Robin cried.

“Don’t worry, Mr. Frog.” Drakken said. “We’ll make sure not to boar you for too long, because we know how much attention we hog all the time.” Kermit tried to make sense out of what Drakken was telling him but couldn’t, because it all sounded so strange.

“Ah, man! Dr. D, if you’re gonna start using puns, I’m gonna gag!” Shego snapped.

“Well, what else do you want me to do, Shego? Come out and tell him that we’ve kidnapped his pig friend?” Drakken asked, and Shego slapped her forehead, disgusted over the way Drakken just gave up the secret information. Octavius was becoming irritated by Drakken’s stupidity very quickly.

“Get that frog out of here, before you give away something else!!” Ock ordered, and Drakken, never the one to take orders, flew his hovercraft away from the scene, while Ock brought his focus back on Peter. “Find Spider-Man…” He looked towards Mary Jane, who suddenly found herself surrounded by his other three tentacles, “…Or I’ll peel the flesh off her bones.”

“If you lay one finger on her…” Peter said, but Ock was quick to intervene in the middle of his threat.

“You’ll do what?” He asked and didn’t give Peter the chance to reply, as he threw him across the room and made him crash against a wall, landing back on the floor with several bits of debris covering his body. Kim, Mickey, Fozzie, Robin, and Ronnie watched helplessly, as Doc Ock grabbed Mary Jane and fled the scene with her.

“This is not good at all!” Fozzie exclaimed.

“Ya think?” Kim said in a sarcastic tone, just as Ronnie started running through the hole that Ock made in the front part of the diner.

“I’ve gotta go get some help.” He said, while Fozzie ran through the hole as well, following after Ronnie.

“Wait. I’m coming with you.” As soon as Fozzie and Ronnie had left, Robin turned to Kim and Mickey, with an extremely worried look on his face.

“What’re we going to do?! Without Spider-Man, Uncle Kermit, Miss Piggy, and Mary Jane are all doomed!” Before Kim or Mickey could’ve had the chance to calm Robin down, they heard a muffled grunting noise come from within the pile of debris that Peter was lying under and then saw him break out from it in a very superhuman way. It confused Robin to see how mightily Peter busted out from the debris pile, just as much as it had to see how fast he ran away from it and moved outside the wrecked diner and onto the sidewalk. “Whoa! How did Peter do that?!” All Kim and Mickey had done was looked down at Robin and smile.

“The only thing you need to know, Robin, is that your uncle is going to be just fine.” Kim said, and she gave a gentle pat on the tiny frog’s head, just before she and Mickey went to Peter, who had noticed something odd about his eyesight.

“Why is everything so blurry?” He asked, and when Kim and Mickey noticed that he was still wearing his glasses, they both grabbed each side of them and removed them from Peter’s face. Once the glasses were removed, everything appeared clearly to Peter. He took the glasses from Kim and Mickey, staring at them for a long while, before he dropped them to the concrete and clenched his fist. “Let’s go save our friends…together.” As he watched Peter, Mickey, and Kim run off to the rescue, Robin pulled out the sorcerer hat, alarmed over his forgetting to mention it to Mickey. However, the small frog began to calm down, as he started to gain faith in the mouse.

Again... That was incredible. How you blend the events of the movie with the added characters. Picking up on the drama and intensity.
Oh Robin, you rully need to give Mickey that hat.
Looks like there'll be some more hostages to rescue this time around. But it makes sense... This being the crossover story for Spider-Man/Muppets 2 with 3 heroes, 3 hostages, and 3 villains.

Post more when possible please!
