Had this exchange with an old lady today while leaving the library...

LADY: Is your name Joseph?
ME: Yes.
LADY: Joseph Spencer?
ME: No.

And that was it.

Haha...that reminds me of this one time at school, some random office lady comes up and asks me my name. She then says I have to go to the office. I go, and they look at me like I'm nuts and then they tell me they were looking for someone else with the same first name.

I saw a house with an actual observatory and telescope on the top of the roof.
How often do you see that around?

I forgot to mention this the other day, but I thought it was amusing that our National Anthem was botched once again at an event, and it made national news.

Now, THIS TIME, I think it can be forgiven, since the person singing it was Canadian, but that makes me wonder... WHY did they have a Canadian try to sing the American National Anthem anyway? (And even stranger, her speaking voice sounded more Irish than it did Canadian).

Probably becuase the American team was playing at a Canadian team's hometown, so the singer would most probably be Canadian, and they sing both anthems at games where two countries teams play each other.

I can't believe there's actually an entry for "Earworm" on Wikipedia... now I wonder if there's also entries for things like "Big Lipped Alligator Moment" as well?

Oy.

So, there's a new Chick-fil-a getting ready to open up in my town (closer to where I live too, yay), and they're building it in a community in town that's mostly inhabited by old people.

So anyway, they put the new sign up, and now, all the little old ladies in town are whining and whining about the sign, saying it's "too big" and it's ruining the charm of the neighborhood, and making it look like an interstate, yadda-yadda-yadda, so all these biddies are formulating a revolution by... not doing business with Chick-fil-a... one old lady is saying she'll drive all the way to Zaxby's from now on for chicken (even though there isn't a Zaxby's in my town), another old lady is saying that she used to love Chick-fil-a's diet lemonade but will now buy Minute Maid's diet lemonade from the store... and all these old ladies are so sure that by not doing business with Chick-fil-a will hurt them enough to drive them out of the area.

Now, you want to know that makes this REALLY ridiculous? There's literally a McDonald's right across from the street from where they're building the new Chick-fil-a, and guess what? THEY'VE got a "big sign" out front too. And you know what? That big sign's been there for 15 years.
