I spent at least an hour just looking at all the little AU Darkwings. Mario DW, Waldo DW, Silver Surfer, Harry Potter, Indiana Jones, many many Disney character caricatures... I wonder how many bar napkins Silvani has covered with lists of references to draw in.

My sister died when I told her about Sailor Sentai Darkwing. Reminds me of all those times Darkwing tried other personalities and got other super powers. Must be the basisi of all the other dimensions then.

My one little bugaboo about the saga is that I don't think Darkwarrior was used quite enough. I hope he comes back someday, though I liked his one line, "Enjoy his last few victories before they take her." or something like that.

Yes, I was very happy to see Dark Warrior turn up, and have some actual in-character lines rather than just filling out crowd scenes. That was a great line, and shows that the writer really knows the series.

The Sailor Moon Darkwing made me grin, but the Lady Gaga Darkwing broke my brain. It didn't help that she had a hairdo that scarily resembles mine.

I bought the graphic novel finally and i'm lovvvving it! I'm on the last issue and it's getting good. I loved how Megavolt didn't reconized Drake as Darkwing. Funny stuff. I don't want to give to much up for others who haven't read it or the ones that ever will.

But did anyone else think in issue 2 when you see that character in the shadow starring over Darkwing was SteelBeak? I just thought it was till i saw the next part. Pretty tricky comic book artiest. But i'm loving this and hope to get the rest of the ongoing comic.

I think it would be neat if they actually revived the Darkwing Duck series and used the same graphic novel plots. I can even see the voice artists comic back to voice their characters. However, Gosalyn would need a new voice actress since Christine Cavanaugh has retired from voice acting. Maybe E.G. Daily can be the new voice of Gosalyn.

Don't forget to look out for the Darkwing Duck classics Paperback. Seems that they are republishing the Disney comics 4 part adaption of the origin saga, BUT they also have some of the first Disney Afternoon shorts too.

The trade paperback includes an essay by Tad Stone, who said that Darkwing had at least four origin stories told on the show.

The ones I know of are:
  • Paraducks - Darkwing and Gosylyn travel back in time, and Darkwing gets his past self (when he was a child) to become Darkwing Duck.
  • Clash Reunion - we see that Drake Mallard first became Darkwing Duck while in high school.

So what other episodes told his origins? Would Darky Dawns the Duck count? In that one he seems to be Darkwing Duck all the time, and has a secret hideout on the bridge, and seems to create his "Drake Mallard" identity when deciding to adopt Gosylyn.
