OOC: Just to clarify, that was me sending a thought to your head in character, not an OOC.

Herb: First of all, you people apparently don't know the meaning of a trial. A trial is so we can figure out these things, such as the silver issue. That's why I'm doing this. So we can get to the bottom of everything that happened. In all essense, I'm doing you a favor. I'm giving you a chance to defend yourself instead of just bashing you publicly. The clerk did nothing wrong. He pulled the fire alarm, which was the correct thing to do in that circumstance, to look out for the customers.

Herb: DO YOU NOT UNDERSTAND THE MEANING OF A TRIAL? The trial is so we can figure out who is innocent and who isn't. That's the point of it. If you want anything done about your "innocence" you have to defend yourself at court. I'm not saying you aren't innocent. I'm saying that whoever is innocent or not, we have to settle this in the most sophisticated way possible. And if that doesn't make any sense to you, then you are just nuts.
