But seriously, about the mind thing, there is a chance that he could've set up a machine that somehow channeled different thoughts through his head, so that when someone tries to read his mind, only those are read, not his true ones...

*looks around* Well, the shop seems closed, so we wont need to worry about anyone coming in...hes probably through that back door.

*goes up to door and knocks*

*a voice comes through the door* Are you the one who came in here yesterday?

*shopkeeper opens door* You're a bat demon?!?! I knew you were a demon but I couldn't tell what kind. Get in here, you two...

Actually, we wanted you to come back to our apartment...

Shopkeeper: I suppose I can...I take it you got the letter I sent? I'm surprised you came, honestly. *looks at Grace* Who are you?

*leaves apartment and flies down to the shop, and lurks outside, just in case*

Wait...*ears twitch* Ugh...Hubert is outside. I can't believe him. He REALLY doesn't trust you. What can you do to prove that you really are telling us the truth?

Shopkeeper: Tell your friend to go get that book I gave you. I really hate having to sell that thing. The man who wrote it is insane...
