The squid said something about it would be pointlessto kill it, unless itt was lying to save itself... And refuse to refer the squid as "he".

Rachel: Actually, the weakness of the squid is powerful spells.

Melissa threw some kind of black orb at the squid and it lost its beak and when I cast Flare, it lost a tentacle. And after I cast some more spells, it made a deal to let one of us go.

 

[PanthraDion]

Rachel: That makes sense. It hates to be attacked.

 

[Yuna Leonhart]

And thus, it would flee and think of a way to stop us from killing it.
