Muppets didn't appear, even though someone thought they will. Isn't that malfunctioning?

But we decided that since I tried to make it happen, it didn't work. We think it only does what you naturally think will happen, not what you try to think will happen in order to hope it does.

So should we put the machine in the apartment lobby?

I don't think it would be a good idea in case somebody thinks they'll be roasted by a bad-tempered dragon with toothache.

Shopkeeper: What are you three babbling about? No, the machine is not for sale.

Seems like mostly junk *picks up random talisman with interesting carvings* This is a nice neckla-...*hand starts growing claws and fur* AAHHH! *drops it, returns hand to human* Pssstt...guys, did you just see that?

Shopkeeper: Whats going on over there? You break it, you buy it!

What.. what just happened? Did your hand just transforming or am I in the need of new glasses?

SSSHHH! No, you weren't seeing things...Hey, mister shopkeeper dude, whats this necklace thingy?

Shopkeeper: That is not just a "necklace thingy." First of all, we are not alone. There are all kinds of monsters hiding among us. Some of them have human forms which allow them to blend in with the rest of us. That is a special talisman that will force a monster into its true form. Really rare, really valuable.

But...you have a whole a rack of them...

Shopkeeper: Fine, if you want the thing, 5 bucks. No one believes that mumbo jumbo anyway. Can I interest you in a book about cryptozoology to go with it?

*glances with a raised eyebrow at the shelf when the shopkeeper says "rare"*
Ah... yes. And let me guess, you have more things useful for monstes but uselss for people, right? Oh, and by the way, I'll buy that nice hat.

Shopkeeper: May I ask how something that forces a monster into their monster state would be useful for them? Most of the stuff on that shelf is to protect humans...if you believe in that stuff. That cross right there is supposed to hurt demons who touch it...

I'll take a look at that book you were talking about...and now I want to touch that thing...

*shopkeeper goes into back room of store to get book*
