The soft, yellow-green, pre-dawn light filtered down through layer after layer of budding leaves; filtered down through a seemingly never-ending multicolored sea of leaves, budding at the first rays of spring. A morning breeze, barely stronger than the softest sigh, wove its way through firsth light and twig and branch, creating its soft spring song. Into this song another song wove. A song lead by a guitar that was gently strumming and humming, and joined by bongo drums that were tapping lightly and steadily a happy beat, a joyful tune that matched the joy of that spring dawn. Over and into the music two light mle voices twined, skillfully embracing the happy, joyful, tune that was being sung.
The singers were Gosno and Wfthly, a famous pair of life-long Lavme companions, who were now journeying to the cave-homes of the only creatures known to have survived the legendary Dabreg Tunnelcaves of Death. The only two creatures who knew about Gosno and Wfthly’s journeying were the ctha’s Fawnfeather and Ravenwing. These two ctha’s had promised to meet the two Lavme’s at a tree-shrouded entrance that would lead to the rest of the Tunnelcave survivors. As the Lavme companions approached the appointed meeting place, however, there were no ctha’s in sight.
Yes, I like the sound of that. Now time for the dialogue. That is going to be harder.
(And now, some helpful definitions of some of my words...Firsth=Sun, which is green. Ctha=Cat. Mle=Male. Lavme=Basically, a Draconic-Cat)
