You know...if its true that some of us do have the power of the gods, maybe the scientists know that and want to try to take the powers for their own use...

If the scientists know about it, then I woulsn't be surprised that they try to use us. The question is how do they know this? Was one of us boasting? Was the piece of info leaked? Or was there a spy in the MIB HQ?
