So apparently Nick is going to start doing with ALVINNN like PBS does with ARTHUR, and air new episodes for a week every few months or so. . . . and they're still breaking up the new episodes in half, which is getting really annoying.

Better get used to that. That's pretty much the state of just about every cartoon now. Steven Universe, Adventure Time, Regular Show, SpongeBob etc all break each episode in half. It's been common practice since about the time "Phineas and Ferb" started in 2008.

Most of CN's shows were designed to be 11 minutes long and are never counted as 2 parts of a whole episode. Though what defeats the purpose is they still air full half hour blocks of the shows. Nick, however, was intentionally splitting Fairly Oddparents, Sanjay and Craig, Spongebob and Harvey Beaks to stingily hold the episodes over. One Nicktoons rebroadcast of S&C went ahead of the Nick broadcast and absentmindedly premiered a new 11 minute partial episode as part of the full half hour rebroadcast. All I can say is...heh heh heh. Pig Goat Banana Cricket can be shown in its full half hour because it would be impossible to break it up and have it make any sense since everything always comes together.

I don't rightly know what's going on - we're supposed to get new episodes next week, however I see Nick's changed their schedule again, and put more SpongeBob and some other new show called THE LOUD HOUSE in ALVINNN's slot; I don't know if this is temporary, or if they'll air the new episodes during their afternoon slot instead.

Well, good to see Nick is giving The Loud House a chance. I hope they treat this show much better than they have their other current shows (besides SpongeBob and Alvin). If you ask me, I think animation should be completely running the channel but unfortunately they only want to show those terrible tween sitcoms that aren't even very popular.

While Nickelodeon has always been a mixed kid's programming channel, I hate how they push the kidcoms and quietly try to sabotage their animated programming. I don't see why their cartoons don't even get a weekly slot, be they new episodes or reruns. I'm glad Alvin was a hit enough for them to not burn through it, dump it on Nicktoons for a few months, and forget about it entirely. It just would be nice if any show other than Spongebob and Alvin would have a weekday slot. I'm not saying marathon levels, but certainly an episode here and there.

Okay. Anyone else see today's new episode "Wax Dave?"

When I saw the title I was like, oh...they're going "The Garfield Show" route and just recycling old episodes. Something forgivable because the demographic wasn't around 20-30 years ago for the first one (though Garfield and Friends was released on DVD entirely, and it's on hulu if you want to pay for it). That was always one of my favorite episodes, actually.

But they found a different comedic route for this one, and I gotta say I've been down today (not just because the obvious), but that cheered me the heck up. It's one of the funniest episodes so far (though, admittedly due to the fact I have a strange sense of humor). Highlights...

Ms. Miller's back in a more sizable role, and the Chipettes do a poor impersonation of the boys to fool her and Dave. Complete with fake rap star attitude, which I'm taking as a stealth swipe at the movies.

Alvin watching a horror movie and mistaking a wax museum workshop for a torture dungeon, then rescuing "Dave" giving this a completely different plot from the 80's episode.

How the dummy talks in "Dave's favorite sayings" which were things he'd say to his kids, strangely.

Dave's dummy melting in real time, forcing them to go to the doctor, who then tries to repair it like the wax statue it was, to Alvin's horror.

Sadly Nick seems to be doing this with Miraculous Ladybug, which they quietly dumped onto Nicktoons, despite the series pulling in fairly good ratings.

They did it because they're Nickelodeon and think their viewers actually like Ricky Dicky...that stupid thing and put it on all their channels.

Plus it's a girl's show so unless it has anything to do with Ponies, it's doomed to fail. CN wriggled out of that crap when the female characters on Adventure Time they refused to let them have on the show became the breakout characters and Steven Universe got a fanbase.

Well, sadly "Nicky Ricky Dicky and Dawn" is probably their best live action show right now, besides Henry Danger. Henry Danger is the only tweencom on the channel that I actually enjoy though.
