It seems to me like Sweetums' scene there was a bit unneccessary. If Gonzo's car hadn't landed on top of the studebaker, they wouldn't have needed to trade in the cars. Kermit and Fozzie could have easily just met Gonzo and Camilla, invited them to come along, and the studebaker could have broken down later.

I have seen a poster for the movie where most of the Muppets were riding in a car. I think it would have been appropriate if Sweetums was seen chasing after the car in the poster.

In the Muppets reality, it seems like the Muppets would have shown Sweetums chasing the car, and at one point comming out of a tent, but then not catching up with the Muppets in their movie (I don't think the Muppets purposely planned on having Sweetums jump through the screen... And it would be time consuming for him to crash through every movie screen showing the movie). Of course, he crashed right when the screen said "The End". If he didn't crash, I ould have expected the credits to roll over that last show of all the (other) Muppets. It would have been weird for Sweetusm to suddenly run into the crowd.

Obviously we'll never mesh the cannon of him chasing them with the cannon of his leaping through the screen at the end. If he was there to film the movie, how had they not met? If they knew he was chasing them, why dids't they not stop to find him? If they didn't know, what was he doing in the movie?

It's obviously one of the few things in the Muppet-verse that doesn't quite hold up to close inspection. (Along with most of Dr Buns inventions.)

Hehe, I remember before I knew Sweetums's name I referred to him not as Jack, but as "Jack-not-name-Jack-job" lol :stick_out_tongue:

But then in Muppet Treasure Island when they called his name during role-call; that's when I learned his real name

and when they get the car from Mad Man Mooney I thought Kermit wanted it because it had a fly on it (before I realized it was supposed to be a decimal point :halo: )

*giggles!* I had never thought of it that way! Naturally Kermit would want a car with in-car snacks installed!

I never thought of that either! Nice interpretation.

Really though, there's no way to rationalize what happens in a comedic movie, or actually in most movies. Things are done for comedic or dramatic effect. If they followed the rules of the real world, it wouldn't be as good a movie.

Oh yeah, and as for Sweetums in Great Muppet Caper, I think he was just there to add to the chaos of the opening number :halo:
