All right, now that I'm more awake and read the whole thing again, I can give you a detailed review of chapter one and two. You always do this for people, so I'm doing it for you.
There! A frog, slightly darker shade of green than him, with long eyelashes. She was an extremely attractive lady frog, and she knew it. She was confident, despite being confused.
I like how you don't explain exactly who she is at first. It makes us go "old girlfriend? Sister? Aquaintance?" Leaving us guessing for a little bit was brilliant!
“Hey, Mit!” she said as she hugged him.
I already mentioned how much I love that she calls him "Mit" It's so cute and right away we know this is someone who has known Kermit for years.
Everyone immediately scattered, including Miss Piggy, who had seen and heard everything from the door of her dressing room. A moment or two later, Clifford came back. He folded his arms across his chest and leaned on Kermit’s desk. Kermit looked at him.
I was waiting for Miss Piggy to come and get jealous because she didn't know it was his sister! And I expect she'll still be jealous even after she knows it's his sister because she doesn't like anyone stealing her frog's attention!
She laughed. “Mit, do you ever wonder if you’re absolutely insane?”
“In this place?” he said. “Every day.”
I just loved this line, it really made me laugh!
The swamp. She shook her head, remembering why she had so urgently taken the train that morning. It was easy to put it off, so long as there was something else in the swamp her brother wanted to know about. But she knew there wasn’t really much time.
Ok, now we know there is so much more to Maggie than just being Kermit's sister. She's got a secret. I'm beginning to feel real compassion about her character and I want to know more about her!
“Your frog?” Maggie laughed with a devious twinkle in her eye. “Listen, Pig. I’ve known Mit since we were pollywogs. If anyone here can claim him, it’s me. Not some pig that he happened to hire as some sort of chorus-girl.”
Oh I love how she's toying with her! This is comedy gold! I can see this whole scene being played out!
“Ha!” Kermit said. “Those who live in glass houses, Miss Margaret the Frog.”
There are tons of good lines in this whole set, but I liked this one the best. It's really a great brother/sister scene and we're beginning to see how close Kermit is to his sister. I laughed alot reading this whole part.
Excellent stuff Lisa, I'm amazed at how you crank out story after story! Keep up the good work!
