Ok. Now I've calmed down a little....

Yes, I agree it is good that the Muppet's are getting exposure. And better yet, that they were advertising all adult films, not children's.

However, I felt they laid on the innuendo a little thick. Pepe needing to take a cold shower? Stadler and Waldorf talking about Viagra? This is not the Muppets I know, ok. Land of Gorch, maybe. But not Muppets.

The voices were definitely off, though Stadler wasn't bad. And Pepe seemed quite good.

The Puppetry had much to be desired, specially Waldorf.

The Puppets, I am pleased to say, were up to their usual standards, which makes a change recently.

The writers, though, don't seem to understand what it is that makes Stadler and Waldorf funny. They seem to be under the impression that the two old gentlemen say anything, and laugh about it. Which was never true on the Muppet show. What they said on the Muppet show was not always funny, but it was funny that they thought it was funny, whereas here:

"I'm Stadler"

"And I'm Waldorf"

"And we're not dead"

"Yet"

"Oh, ho, ho, ho"

was not v. funny in my opinion, and even them laughing about it wasn't very funny.

So, what is the spark that is missing? I am not sure, but I think A. They should be in their proper box. And B. They need better writers.

Even A Bad DVD Makes A Great Coaster....

All right, time for my two cents.

1) Voices and Timing: eh.....could be better. But like a few others I'm not quite convinced that it was Steve, Dave, & Bill. Then again the library computers here at the U makes everything sound like Mickey Mouse

2) Script: Some parts were funny and I chuckled. However, let's cut it out with the innuendos people !!!!!!!! Let's keep the Muppets, clean and I repeat Clean. Even if a little kid won't understand the joke..I do and I don't like it. Jim Henson wanted to use television for good. Not to spread filth. Let's keep it that way ok?

3) Publicity: I'm lovin' the fact that it's Statler & Waldorf reviewing. (I mean they're hecklers right) The fact that their face is out there is a good thing. However, let's not cut out the younger audience entirely. Remember the kiddie movies along with the adults.

All in all I give it two kermits (if I'm allowed to use the scale). I know you know what sells. But if the Muppets keep going in the heavy innuendo pathway. Unfortunatly they're going to lose some fans. Starting with me.

I know that I can't see it because of something called "IT WON'T DOWNLOAD!" Could someone send it to me so I can download it like a song. I want to see it and It won't let me see it or hear it. I choose one and it won't do anything. Could something be wrong? I hate not getting to see it and have my two cents in this therad. Help me please!

Again, for everyone thinking the Muppets should be squeaky clean sterile fun, might I suggest Sesame Street and Mopatops? or how bout Bear and the Hoobs?
I don't suggest seeing Kermit on lat enight talk shows, as you'll have to plug your ears. Also, I can see why peopel are glad Disney bought the Muppets, as for the most part they will be keeping th eMuppets as sterile and bland as ever.

Sounded wrong, bad puppetry (what's with the jutty-chin on Waldorf?), way overly-overt sexual inuendo, (I mean, whoah!), why did Stad and Wal keep laughin gat things that wern't funny even when it wasn't funn that they were laughing at things that wern't funny, Whoever the writer is of this stuff is seriously 'off' in the world of the Muppets.

Just my thoughts.

I thought it was the funniest Muppet thing Ive seen in ages, and not once did I even think about the puppeteering or voices. 10/10 for me! Whoever wrote this needs to be hired full time by the Muppets!

It was cool seeing a new Muppets segment, as always. Statler and Waldorf were there and it was cool to see Pepe too. However, I didn't care for the foul language and the sexual innuendos. That was just wrong. It's not adult or mature to talk that way. Any kid can do that, but it doesn't make it right. Anyway, I realize the Muppets still had some perversity snuck through even on The Muppet Show, but generally they have always had good clean humor and I'd hope that they would stay that way.

So...I take it youa re not a fan of The Land of Gorch, Very Merry Muppet Christmas, Muppets Tonight and especially the Jim Henson Hour? The Muppets have *ALWAYS* snuck in violence, crass inuendo, etc. It's just now that you're older you pick up on it.

Anyways, I hope this movies.com thing continues on a weekly basis, and get's even more edgier!

As I've mentioned on here before, nobody outside of the USA would seriously consider the H-word (as we apparently need to refer to it on this forum) to constitute swearing on any level. It's also a given that this kind of review program is going to have more so-called 'adult content' -- after all, many of the movies the pair are reviewing aren't supposed to be seen by young kids either!

In any event, it's good to see the Muppets being used in a new context. It's true that putting them in host roles changes the S&W dynamic somewhat -- it's impossible for central characters to make jokes all the time, while people who interrupt with gags can do that -- but it still comes across well. Wonder how long they'll keep updating it?

You can have adult humor and not get crude. Sure innuedos have always been in there. But you gotta know where to draw the line.

My thoughts exactly! There was nothing on the Muppet Show that children couldn't watch, quote, etc. But I wouldn't want little people quoting these Muppets.

Adult, but not too adult. Draw the line, guys. And make it funny.

The occassional innuendo is cool, but it was the staple of this bit. It just got old IMHO. Seems like there must be other facets of Pepe's personality worth exploring...

Still, fun to watch!
