Not sure... The only way to know for sure is if their IP address matches other people who've been banned as spammers previously, and the only way to do a check for that is by banning this user as well which I would prefer not to do so prematurely. Would wait to hear from fellow forum member Anathema if Flinststone is spammishly bugging them.

The "New I'm Crazy" thread was indeed spam.

1 The original thread was uplicitously unnecessary since we have various Random Randomness threads already.
2 People whose actions have earned them the label of "spammer"—who I am unable to permanently ban for such at this time—kept posting in that thread to the point the spam messages were undistinguishable from the legitimate posts (if any post in that thread can be called legitimate).
3 Creating a new thread for the same purposes as the original will only bring about the same problems which led to the first being deleted.

And anything that fosters the continuation of spam, be it in a new version of a deleted thread, is grounds for deletion and labelling of such new thread as spam as well. Which is why we frown upon re-posting posts that have been deleted when they've been deleted as spam.

:attitude:

I have been asked to start another Christmas Party thread like the one I did last year.
The first one went really well last year, and we did not have many if any problems with spam. The reasons I bring it up however, I want to make sure that when I post the thread it will not be deleted. I have already checked last years thread, and it did "end" with a ending goodbye speech.
So my questions are as follows:
Will it be ok to start a new Christmas party thread since the first one did have an ending?

Can a member who starts a thread setup rules within the thread to help set the tone of the direction of the thread, to help avoid spam or posts getting deleted?
