Is when people on here do

This. IS THERE SOME REASON YOU CAN'T WRITE IN THE SAME AREA?! Instead we have to scroll down for miles, only to get either one word or a smiley. Its freakin' annoying!!!!

I agree - it's been bugging me for ages. It's TERRIBLE nettiquette ! I'm all up for fun but there are people around here with visual problems and it must be playing merry havoc with their screenwriters and things. It'd be cool if it could be stopped or limited - i'm not saying there should be strict rules but maybe a little note in the new forum FAQ to tell people that others might find this extremely annoying.

It's not like i want to make people walk the plank for this ...... well other than that Super Scooter ! *finds blindfold*

Y r U sO aNnOyEd By ThAt?

Yeah, that bugs me too (if I space between the body of my message and a smiley, it's 2 spaces, like above).

Along with that stupid spelling (which I have demonstrated at the beginning).

And I *hate* it when people post these big long tirades, and they don't capitalize a single word. There's this nifty invention. It's called the "Shift" key. You hold that down and press a litter, and it capitalizes that letter. It's like magic.

I have seen a lot of these things lately, and they annoy me to an extent where I can get grumpy and sarcastic in my messages...

I think before people should be allowed to join they should have to take classes in freakin' English !

I'm not kidding about this either, i may have to send a special penguin envoy to the Muppet Central HQ to negotiate a peaceful settlement. I may even have to send in inspector Hans Von Penguin to sniff out any Junior Mints Of Mass Consumption !

There are several different people who do that. I agree, it's annoying. So all the beautiful people out there in the habbit of using too much space - please stop it. Thank you.

Another peeve I have is the mile long signatures some people have. Just a very brief quote, name and/or link will do. We don't have to see the entrie screenplay of the Muppet Movie on every post. LOL! Not that it really is that terrible, just too much. If people are going to do that they might as well change it daily. Just a thought.

Those long winded spaces in between words are indeed dumb and lameopolitain. (<--- new word I made up alert!)

I also cannot stand:

wHAT dO uY mEAN eIZnER wUd bE baD fer Da MuppEtz cUz I tHink iT shOulD bE dA mousE or nOthNIG aNd I thINk I aM wRite!
Its fine to mispell a few words, I do it accidentally in every post. But dizzamn!

Excessive LOL

One word posts

Long winded tirades that seem to on for an infinite amount of length, spewing forth all sorts of discombobulated amounts of ranting and raving with no real pause...kind of like this paragraph but about 20 times larger with no paragraph break, and very little punctuation.

Muppet hatin'.

So who are those two old guys in the theatre? And also, is that a prok pie hat Fonzie wears? Im asking because my roomate loves Fonzie and Rover.

LOOK AT ME, the official Im LAME appreciation thread!

I get more offended by poor language skills than most-- I have been tempted many times to quote a post and repost it with little red marks and corrections. (I may not teach freshman comp, but that doesn't mean I couldn't.) However, I do make a very big exception for the non-native English speakers among us. We have people on the forum from all over the world and I applaud any effort to communicate effectively in a foreign language. What irks me are the posts from Americans that completely destroy the language (as if American English isn't enough of a mess to begin with).

It is difficult to take someone seriously when they cannot present their ideas in a legible manner.

I'm just grateful I don't have to try and read everyone's handwriting.

I'm really bad at gramir and speeling. LOL! Seriously, the odd mistake doesn't bug me, but I can't stand it when people spell Manhattan incorrectly. There's just no exuse for that these days. Especially not for a Muppet fan.

Heh, yes I agree with everyone else's peeves.

No offense, but I think the general lack of proper, coherent writing is a reflection of the people who post in that manner. That is why when a person (usually between the ages of 12-17) comes on and writes so horridly as they do, I get so steamed.

When I found MC, I was amazed and delighted that not only had I found a group of devout Muppet fans, but that they were both fun and well spoken (or written, I guess). I feel that the lack of care put into some of these peoples posts not only makes them look ignorant (well, maybe that's not the best word..), but insults the intelligence of posters on here who have taken an English course or two in their time and know how to make good use of their vocabulary! Now of course I am sensitive to those who do not speak English, and in fact I am proud to be a member of a board where those who don't speak it naturally come and do their best to communicate. People like Joggy (who has mastered the language as far as I'm concerned) and Tommie (who types it well enough that his thoughts are conveyed properly and can be understood) are totally welcomed by me. But when you get Jack or Jill from Chicago who claims to be 16 but types like an infant, I feel get offended.

I may not agree with everyone here on many subjects, but one thing I have seen and will always respect is a person who, even though their views may be different from mine, can put forth their argument in a way that furthers their point intelligently.
