I dunno, I have some very faint memories from when I was very young...I think it was the fact that I didn't understand what anybody was saying (I used to be afraid of hearing speech that I couldn't understand, for some odd reason).
Well, I had no real proble,ms with it when I was younger, except the same thing happened to me that happened to Jeff. The fact that I couldn't understand it freaked me out.
But I really got scred when they had the Pinball song which was sung off key, too fast, and with jewish women trying to sound like the Pointer Sisters.
Freaked me the heck out when they said "EEEEEEEEEEEE_LEVEN" in Hebrew.
But honestly, dispite the fears and such that are related to different languages and dubbs, I liked the characters on the show. Especially Moishe Oofnik (Israeli cousin to Oscar the Grouch). I know that they did change the Kippi the Porcupine character to look more Muppet like, and less like a guy in a stuffy porcupine suit.
Originally posted by punkNpuppets i've never seen Shalom Sesame, and i keep hearing about it being scary. I want you all to say what you think is scary bout it.
I think you may be thinking of the clasic 1974 Brazillian Sesame Street 'Vila Sesamo'...rife with such memorable classics as 'who is the ousted dictator in your neighborhood?', ''C is for Contra-Rebels', and 'Viva la violente conflictos'. Plus who could forget the lovable Garibaldo the transient pan gender drug pusher and Gugu the smuggled porn pusher?
I've took a look at the pictures. They do look kind of scary, but keep in mind though that's the Sesame Street that kids who live in that area grew up with. They probably might think our Sesame Street characters look scary. Lol.
Heh...that's my strange sense of humour. I really dislike the Bert and Ernie are gay jokes, those idiot Bert sites out there...but I figure obscure international Sesame productions are fair game.
You wanna see what this Brazillian show looked like?
