I do remember seeing this street story when it originally aired as part of Season 44, and I’m surprised the show would rerun it now—especially since it focuses on Baby Bear and Papa Bear, and Elmo is nowhere to be seen.
It looks like this marks the end of the HBO era of Sesame Street. Overall, as I’ve said before, I think it’s definitely the dullest and most disappointing era of the show. And based on what I’ve heard about Season 56, I don’t expect things to change much.

So does this mean the letter and number of the day is no more after this week?

It's interesting to note that the letter of the day goes out the same way the first produced episode (test show #1) went in - with the letter "D" being featured (I was kind of expecting "B" to be the letter of the day, given the "ball" in the title). If the letter and number of the day is gone, I'm just going to stick to the older episodes on various streaming services and sites.
