Sesame Street's 55th season officially begins this Thursday on Max. New episodes will debut on Thursdays through September 2025. The Season 55 episodes are scheduled to air on PBS stations across the country beginning September 2025 after the season concludes on Max. This is the fifth season that will premiere exclusively on a streaming service.

Season 55 features:

• A focus on emotional well-being, helping children learn accessible strategies to comprehend and cope with big feelings through fun, lighthearted, relatable, and engaging stories
  
  
• Mecha Elmo, Mecha Cookie, and Mecha Abby in their Sesame Street debut as Mecha Builders shorts will air within select episodes
  
  
• Guest stars Reneé Rapp, Michael B. Jordan, Samara Joy, Noah Kahan, SZA, Chris Stapleton, Jonathan Van Ness, and Billie Jean King

Elmo gets angry when his block tower falls during a game with Rosita, but Louie and a volcano help him calm down and think about his actions.

This episode features an all-new street story, Everyone Has Big Feelings ("Taking a Volcano Breath"), Reneé Rapp sings about feelings, the premiere of Mecha Builders ("Simon Says"), and Sesame Street Nature Explorers ("Rocks").

In this season premiere Elmo and Rosita play a game called beachball bop where they tried to keep the ball in the air without touching the ground, the ball hits Elmo’s block tower and he gets angry and threw a tantrum. Louie helps Elmo by taking a volcano breath and he calmed down, we have new letter and number of the day songs, I thought they were going to do a remake of the number of the day song from season 45 but I was wrong instead we have Elmo and tango showing how many toys tango has, Renee rap sings a song about feelings which is the main focus of the season and a new topic, Mecha builder makes their first appearance since their show’s ending in which they help make the Simon says game be louder which causes everyone to play, we get a new segment where we play I spy finding 4 green things, and in nature explorers Elmo, Gabrielle and Tango find out why the rock was moving, it turns out to be a turtle.

I liked this episode and the new letter of the day song rocked it was awesome nice seeing baby bear added to it along with the two headed monster and count and Oscar and the number of the day song was woah fun

I actually liked the new LOTD intro, especially since almost every character in it got to sing. The new NOTD intro, not so much.

Yeah I really like this letter of the day song it rocked it didn’t focus on Elmo to much but yeah I’m iffy about the number of the day

Well, folks, it finally happened. I ordered HBOMax so now I can see the non-Julia episodes without having to wait five months. Yeah, good episode. Louie seems to be getting more and more airtime lately, or shall I say Senor Louie like Rosita called him.

I liked the Mecha Builders too. It's nice that they use other problem-solving methods rather than, "I wonder, what if, let's try." After five seasons, that does seem to be getting old. Yeah, the new LOTD, NOTD are kinda cool too. I look forward to seeing more of this season, especially the Snuffy-centered one that's coming up. It's been a while since we've seen him outside of a repeat episode. (Or in that one nature song from last season.)

Well, I'm watching them in order but I guess I could jump out of order. I don't think there's any continuing story arcs this season.
