Scooter's first appearance

In the Jim Nabors ep, Scooter is introduced. While I was watching this, I couldn't help but notice the similarities between Scooter and Fleet Scribbler. I don't mean physically, what I mean is that they both proved to be a nuisance to Kermit. Has anyone else noticed this?

I always thought Scooter was a much better character than Fleet, mainly considering the fact that Scooter lasted much longer. Scooter had very positive roles in the show and in movies. While Fleet was just, well, basically a jerk. I'll admit it was sort of rude of Scooter to use the fact that his uncle owned the theater as blackmail to get his way, but other than that he's an all around good guy.

I got tired of hearing Scooter say "my uncle owns the theater."

If I were Kermit I would have said "I could care less because I'm running things here and not your uncle and not you."

That would have put Scooter in his place.

I've noticed that some of the characters get intimidated by Scooter because of his uncle. But not Miss. Piggy. She's karate chopped Scooter a few times not fearing his uncle at all. And Piggy even tried to chop J.P. one time, only to miss and hit Kermit.

Yeah, until J.P. enters the theater and fires Kermit. Lol. Besides the concept of Scooter using his uncle as blackmail wasn't in the later episodes much, except for the Lola Fanala episode where Kermit hires Trevor the Gross to replace Gonzo because he was the best friend of Scooter's uncle. (Gives me an idea for a new quote.)

Wow! I never knew that. In fact, the only time I really saw J.P. was in the U.K. spot in the Bob Hope ep. Is that the Judy Collins episode you're referring to? Maybe I should take a look at that one in the guide.

J.P only appeared three times in Season 2, in the Bob Hope UK Skit, Judy Collins ep, and the Jaye P. Morgan ep, which paved the way for a classic Muppet misunderstanding(J.P. and Jaye P., get it?)

He is introduced in that episode because it was seen more nation wide than the Juliet Prowse and Connie Stevens episodes. He wasnt in the next episode because they didnt want to introduce too many characters in the first ntionally seen episode. So he was reintroduced in the fourth episode. I hope that clears things up Beau.

I never thought of it as blackmail. I think Scooter was just extremely innocent. Maybe I am being too innocent.
