This is sad. I wish his family all the best in the world. I never really got to know him all too well, but he always seemed so nice. He was in his 70s? Wow. I didn't realize that Muppet fans really DO range from all ages. I guess one could say he was the "grandfather" of Muppet Central. The Mr. Hooper, if you will. :wink: He will be missed.

Has anything like this ever happened before on the forums? A prominant regular member such as him dying. Seems pretty one in a million to me. I feel like we should do something special for him. Does anyone know anything else about him? We could do a mini tribute here so that he can be remembered. Just a thought. :embarrassed:

Bobhopesite, here's to you, my friend! :smile:

Much admiration and respect goes out to bobhopesite. He was a great poster and his opinion and insight will be missed greatly. Another tear. I want to say so much more but am a total loss for words.

May his soul find rest among the clouds;
May his heart find bliss among the angels;
May his arms find themselves wrapped once more around the people he loves.

I moved this thread from "Gen Discussion" to "Friends and Family," because that's what we all are here: Friends and Family!

It's truly sad when we see a valued member of the site pass away. This isn't the first time, and unfortunately won't be the last time, but these people who come here are here because they belive in the message that Jim Henson was teaching us, and it is the duty of the rest of us to ensure that, for those who have come and gone, we continue that message.

Thanks for the memory:
Of things I can't forget, journeys on a jet,
Our wond'rous week in Martinique and Vegas and roulette.
How lucky I was.

And thanks for the memory:
Of summers by the sea, dawn in Waikiki.
We had a pad in London but we didn't stop for tea;
How cozy it was.

Now since our breakup I wake up
Alone on a gray morning-after.
I long for the sound of your laughter,
And then I see the laugh's on me.

But, thanks for the memory:
Of every touch a thrill. I've been through the mill.
I've lived a lot and learned a lot, you loved me not and still;
I miss you so much.

Thanks for the memory:
Of how we used to jog even in a fog,
That barbecue in Malibu, away from all the smog -
How rainy it was.

Thanks for the memory:
Of letters I destroyed, books that we enjoyed,
Tonight the way things look, I need a book by Sigmund Freud -
How brainy he was.

Gone are those evenings on Broadway.
Together we'd go to a great show.
But now I begin with the Late Show,
And wish that you were watching, too.

I know it's a fallacy:
That grown men never cry, baby, that's a lie.
We had our bed of roses, but forgot that roses die.
And thank you so much.
