I never really like Rowlf that much....because I LOVE HIM!

Rowlf has always been my fav, I think it was my older bro's old Muppet stick puppet that made my connection with Rowlf. Rowlf is so imporant to muppet history, yet he is so lost in the public today.
:sympathy:

300 cheers for Rowlf!!

Zack)ROWLF the, this one's for you ROWLF! Dog.

I've said it plenty of times, but I LOVE ROWLF. Something a/b those brown floppy ears and those fried-egg-looking eyes, and that voice....Makes me feel all warm & fuzzy inside. He'll be your best friend, no matter what...A faithful dog to the end.
I love Vet's Hospital, I love the fact that he plays all those A.A. Milne songs, but I loved his personality best. Even more than his piano playng, his jokes, (even when they were INTENTIONALLY bad), and his singing. He always makes me smile, he always makes me laugh....And I look forward to his return, soon.
(AND to the Rowlf figure I hope to recieve for my birthday this year!)

Rowlf is a wonderful muppet with lots of talent! I'd like to see him and his talents used more in the future, I'm sure Jim would have wanted him to stay! :sympathy:

Rowlf is very cool and funny. I was watching my "It's the Muppets" tape and saw the bit with Miss Piggy, Foo-foo and Rowlf. It was hilarious. I'd like to see the Rowlf/Piggy thing happen again in the new show, with Rowlf as the funny piano player. I'm sure Jim would have wanted all of his characters to go on, even if the voice wasn't just right as long as they stayed in character.

I agree. Bill's Rowlf hasn't spoke enough for me to make a judgement on how he sounds. Although Kevin/Fozzie said Rowlf sounded really good at Muppetfest.

if you go to www.weezer.com and go into the video section and download like part 3 of making of the weezer video with the muppets, you can listen to rowlf say some stuff for a few minutes. probablly the most he's ever said in over 10 years.
but his voice sounds like bobo the bears voice. but hey, i was so glad to see rowlf speak. he needs to be on camera more in the future..

Either my computer is way too slow, which I think it is, or the streaming video isn't working right. Can anyone post a link that allwos you to download the making of video and watch it off of a hard drive?

I just heard the audio of the Weezer making of with Rowlf and he sounds way too much like Bobo. I think it's the way he talks and not really the voice as much. I mean, even the way he said "right" was exactly the way Bobo says it. I guess it better to have Bobo Rwolf instead of mime Rowlf. I guess Rowlf is just one of those voices that is hard to nail.

Edit: I think I know what the voice needs. He needs to be a little more southern. Rowlf always had that very light southerness that set him apart from Dr. Teeth. Aslo, Rowlf's voice is a bit higher. I'm sure Bill has put more work into the voice though. I'd love to hear how he sounds now with a script. I'm sure a script will keep Bill from slipping into Bobo.

Aslo, Ecric's Fozzie and Piggy still astound me. Just fantastic. Possible the best transistion in muppet history. But this is a Rowlf thread, Eric can get his own thread. :-D

I guess now that I heard that early Vet's Hospital sketch on Muppet Central Radio, the Weezer song with Rowlf is the next thing I should wait for to hear how Bobo's, er, I mean Bill's Rowlf sounds. He can't be too far off, since I thought Bobo sounded like Rowlf in MFS. I did hear his grunts in MTI and he said "Hi Kermit" in Ivamicmum (We have got to come up with a better abbreviation for that movie), but still that's not enough to make a judgement on how he sounds. I guess, Bill's so busy with our favorite King Prawn , he doesn't have much time for Rowlf.

Heck, they should just let Ryan perform Pepe. He's been doing a heck of a job, in "Things They'd Never Say" thread. Lol.

Okay, I'm getting totally off subject here.

True, but since you brought it up, I might as well comment on that. I have to agree. I didn't even know Piggy's voice had changed when I saw her on "Hollywood Squares" and the Denny's commercial. I think his Grover might need a little work though, on the "Play With Me Sesame" theme, he sounded a bit too much like Cookie Monster. Other than that, he is great at doing Frank's characters. I wonder if Frank himself had coached him.

Still, as good as Eric is with all those characters, it would be nice to see Frank Oz back in a new movie or something.
