"Indoctrinating with a liberal agenda"...what is the liberal agenda?

Uh...peace, tolerance, civil rights, etc? oooh, scary evil socialism!

Again, while Im disappointed with a lot of the fake mainstream "liberals"(the obamabot yuppys who are unaware of anything), there's really not much in the conservative sphere one can say is too appealing no matter what spin they try to put. Though to me, Obama is too right wing for me so I guess that says a lot about my politics:smile:

I'm stumped too. I mean, what is the liberal agenda of Sesame Street? Do only kids of privilege deserve a head start in education? Maybe Fox News is still begrudging the "highly integrated cast of children" like Mississippi did back in 1970. (By the way, I find the fact that the state of Jim's birth and the place where they hold his annual celebration ever felt that way to be incredibly odd. History, huh?)

And of course, they confuse Sesame Street with the Muppets. Even so, the Muppets are all about capitalism. They worked hard to put on a show each week in order to make ends-meet. They had so many licensed products in the 70's and 80's and let's not forget that they started in commercials!

If any muppety troupe of characters should be attacked for a liberal agenda it should be the Fraggles. The show exposes the interdependence of everything and that's something a lot of conservatives don't want their kids to know - that everyone matters! Just because something doesn't directly impact your life doesn't mean it doesn't factor into it somehow. I think Fraggle Rock should be required viewing. I think it too should be on PBS instead of pay cable.

Even PBS is pay TV to a degree: now that analog broadcasting is obsolete, you have to either pay for a converter box to pick up certain channels and networks, or simply buy cable.

Even when Fox has Democrats, they're used as strawmen who sit there and absorb the program hosts' vitriol without being given an adequate chance to respond.
They get to respond, they just don't get to win, lol. These guys are all friends anyway, the whole partisan thing is nonsense that the public too easily buys into.

their women are blonder.
This is true, lol.

@jamie: Oh definitely. Fraggle Rock is wholly focused on a hippy dippy new agey vibe(which I love!)

Though, I also realize another message of the Muppets is tolerance, which even I admit to not being when it comes to some beliefs.

Regarding the infamous Big Bird ad, I liked the "no matter where they nest" part, it's creepy like those old '80s PSAs, lol.

But yeah it does come off more like a spoof than a real commercial. It's surprising frankly that anyone approved it.

I'm sure they're friendlier than it comes-off on screen. You must be cherry-picking rarities because it is not standard practice with.Hannity, OReilly or many others. The Democrats they "invite" onto these guys' programs are not allowed to respond before they are cut-off. They've even gone so far as to publicly shut off the microphones of those who dare to complete a statement. That's why many people refuse to go on the network. It's not that they're frightened or partisan. It's because they are used as strawmen to sit there, look stupid and prove a point manufactured by the host.

It is this created conflict that translates into ratings, but these are empty calories. It is junk food news. I have never seen a less informed panel of hosts than the ones at Fox News. I don't include everybody over there. It's mainly Hannity and the dodos of Fox & Friends that don't understand the basics of politics. O'Reilly and Cavuto, on the other hand, do understand and they intentionally mislead others.
