No!! Bad idea!! One of the Tokyopop editors posted on their forum not long ago to say he would like to do a new Labyrinth manga project once RtL is complete -- IF RtL sales are good. With the manga, however, there is a middle ground. If volume 1 sold very very well, but sales crashed to almost nothing with volumes 2 and 3, the decision-makers might realize people DO want Labyrinth stuff, but we DON'T want cheap and lousy Labyrinth stuff. A sales crash between vol. 1 and vol. 2 would say to Tokyopop and others who are watching that the interest was there, but this product failed to meet our expectations.
That, too, may depend on how sales of RtL go.I'm still waiting to hear news about the Mirrormask manga.
Laszlo, what you're talking about is called bishounen - it's a term which is often used to describe feminine looking males in manga. Bishonen characters are quite common in, what's called, a "girl manga" or "shoujo manga", and are very popular among young female readers.(even if that isn't Bowie...
is it a female Jareth?)
Looking at those two images you can really tell which one is the top and which one is the flop. Here's a page from Return To Labyrinth
