I was just wondering, could somebody who has ever seen the 1971 appearance of Evening at the Pops give me a description about what happened in it. I know that there is an article about it at Muppet Wiki, but could someone explain it in more detail.

The only appearance of Pops that I recall is the one they did in 2001 where they also showed that Elmo version of Peter and the Wolf.

MTR has it in their library. If you're up for a day trip to NYC, you could watch it there.

Thanks Scott. I just hope that someone out there may have it. I know that I sound desperate, but lets face it, I am dying to see it and I don't have the money right now to go to NY. Maybe I should ask someone like Phil and Cindy Chapman or Danny Horn.

I can tell you right now Danny doesn't have it. You're more likely to find someone with a copy of the 2001 Evening at Pops than you'll find someone who has the 1971 Evening at Pops.

I've tried contacting people through my John Williams channels and they don't seem to have either of them. It's been a while though, but you might find someone on the Internet who collects Evening at Pops performances. Someone out there might even have a connection to a local PBS affiliate who has access to high quality tapes.

I just sent a private message to Phil and Cindy. If they don't have it, I'll have to try some of your suggestions. Do you or anyone else know who collects those shows or has a connection to a PBS affiliate?

WITF carries PBS programming.
I'll see what I can do. If I manage to get it, I'll try to send you a copy, since I know that you love classical music. How does that sound?

If you find a copy of either one, I'd love to trade.
I just called a friend of mine he knows the vice-president of WITF. He hasn't talked with him for quite some time. I am hoping that he might be able to settle some negotiations with him. I will keep you updated on what happens. Thanks for understanding
