Heh. When the piggies see it I bet they'll ask where we were when they needed us to protect them.
And we'll say but it was worth it wasn't it? You got a hilarious comedy number, instead of a plain ordinary song. Surely that is far better, right?

Ha, I was thinking the same thing... that the piggies should've had you along so they could've done that to the goat, too!

But you're right, not only did they get to go on their little ride down the mountain () but they did a faaaaabulous comedic job as well!

Say Caroline I just took another look at the clip and I thought when the second piggie falls the pick goes with him surprisingly easily.
I would have thought the pick would have been driven into the mountain by him as far as possible as part of his efforts to keep himself from falling. The goat probably still could have knocked him off, but wouldn't you think the pick would have slipped out of his hands leaving it embedded in the rock rather than him falling with it clasped in his hands?
What do you or anyone else think?

You know, I've noticed that, too, and had that exact same thought. I always thought that the pick should've gotten caught in the mountain somewhere along the way, too. That would've made more sense, to me anyway. I don't know... maybe the piggy was... protecting it! Ha, ok, probably not. But that is a really great point and an interesting question. I'm glad you brought it up!

Of course he would have still left it free enough so he could pull it out to climb up further but I just thought he was endeavouring more so to stick it securely in as he was climbing after their friend fell since you can't even see it during the first verse's lyrics. But I still think it shouldn't have came out as easy as that when he was bumped off. In fact the shock may even have made him lose his grip on it in the first place.
Still I'm interested in thoughts about this point.

That's a good point, I never even thought to look to see if you could see the pick during the first verse. That's pretty interesting that we only start to see it after the first piggy falls. Exactly, the shock should've made him lose his grip on it. Or I was also thinking that he'd be so shocked about being bumped off, he'd just forget it was in his hand or something, and he'd still be holding onto it during the first part of the fall and it would get stuck somewhere along the way, either falling out of his hand and sticking somewhere, or it would catch him somewhere on the way down. I guess that's what I was mainly thinking, weird thought as it is, heh! Or maybe I was just thinking that idea because I'm subconsciously trying to think up a way our piggy could keep on climbin'!

Anyway, definitely. Any other thoughts would be interesting!

Well you can see the pick while he's climbing at the very beginning however when the trio begin to sing he appears to be holding it in his hands concealed by the mountain. Presumably he feels pretty confident in his own safety that he hasn't bothered sticking it into the mountain at that point. But after what happens to their friend he's making every effort to watch his step and also to use the pick to help secure himself as much as possible. Maybe cgf might like to comment about this point. He really loves this thread.

Well I'm not sure I'd say they were silly piggies. But they had no idea what was going to happen to them. If the goat hadn't been around they would have had a wonderful time and if any of them could be called silly in that case it would have been their silly friend. Getting worried about nothing. Or maybe silly enough to be talked into it by his best friends when he didn't like going up heights. But at least they would have looked after him. Still I just thought they were a little thoughtlessly silly in the sense that they could have said. "It'll be safe buddy. We'll all be roped together and take it slowly and carefully. We won't force you to come with us but if you'll feel any better we'll put you in between us when we go wandering." Silly piggies in a way indeed.
