I don’t think “Shining Time Station” would have been a first-thought for putting out at all given how Thomas was just often seen as a series of videos that comes out in stores by the early 00s before episodes actually started airing on TV again as its own series on PBS.

If all of 1-5 were to air, I would imagine it just being the restored prints on their own. But since it’s just the half-hour blocks, then that’s telling me it’s all just Michael Brandon narrations.

Yes, I definitely see what you're saying. I was pleased with how PBS Kids Sprout handled airing Thomas & Friends several years ago, as they struck a good balance between the classic episodes and the HiT Entertainment episodes.

I did learn on Facebook that older seasons of Plaza Sesamo and Sesame Street are likely coming to PBS Retro later this month. Puzzle Place is likely a candidate for the schedule, and The Magic School Bus is being considered. Bill Nye the Science Guy is already showing - but are they the syndicated episodes or are they the PBS broadcasts? The PBS broadcasts were far better because you got a full half hour of content as opposed to about 20 minutes for syndication, plus the PBS airings have segments that were never shown in syndication and there are segments that involve background music by licensed recording artists (The "Club Invertibrae" segment had an in-house recording when aired in syndication, while the PBS broadcast had "Disco Inferno" by The Trammmps).

Could that, along with the upcoming addition of older Sesame content to YouTube and Netflix in January, be the reason for removing the library from the AAPB?

After a year and 6 months of its launch, PBS Retro is now bringing 2 "classic" shows to its lineup:
Angelina Ballerina: The Next Step (which premiered on October 10th)
Jakers! The Adventures of Piggley Winks (premiering this Friday)

From the looks of it, PBSR is premiering "new" shows (that PBS own the streaming rights to) every Friday for the time being!

I wonder why they aren't airing the original show. Probably rights issues but it's kinda crazy to me that they were able to air their original Thomas HiT era airings, you'd think they would also get the rights back to Angelina as well. Strange. I really hope they are able to get Wishbone in the future but i'm not gonna get my hopes up too high.
