Nice to see that the Oscar people have some good taste this year. The film's doing really well with the critics, but it seems to me that most of the media attention this winter has been centered on the big blockbusters like Dreamgirls.

I think the film's up for best cinematography, best score, best original screenplay...I forget what the others are.

Quick question: On Wikipedia they say there's a connection between this film and a film called "The Devil's Backbone". What's the connection?
I can't really say as I haven't seen either film, but they are both directed by the same man, if I'm remembering the article correctly that is. :smirk:

I want to see it soooo bad! But I know there's no way on earth my parents will let me. They feel that I shouldn't be filling my head with that sort of thing.

EXTREMELY Unsettling! It is a very good movie, the effects are fantastic, but OUCH! UGH! WHAT?! were only a few of my reactions during the film.

I can't wait until it leaves theaters so we can start discussing the film and drop in spoilers because some of this I really want to discuss.

Really? Doesn't seem like Dreamgirls is getting that much Oscar attention. Not as much as I thought atleast. It isn't even nominated for Best Picture. Not that I think it deserves to be, but I guess it was a huge shocker that it wasn't.

Haven't seen it yet, but i hope to see it soon. I'm just curious, for those who've seen it, is there much (i mean like, ALOT of) CGI? And is the CGI done well?

The effects are amazing and beautiful. Visually, you'll love the movie. Story: very very good. You will be shocked, though. See it so when it leaves theaters we can talk all about it.
