Yes I know this musical is in previews (it's got a month of them). So I won't say too much.

But I saw it last Wednesday, and I have to say I was generally very impressed with it. Sometimes there is nothing quite like a professional production.

Rowan Atkinson does well with Fagin. The kids all dance amazingly, especially on 'Consider Yourself'. Julian Glover has a lot of stage presence as Mr Brownlow. I felt Mr Bumble and Widdow Corny to be a little OTT. However, the show's other comic couple the undertaker and his wife really show you how good comedy can be in the hands of true professionals.

This show is bound to run, so if any of you guys are in London in the not too distant future it may be worth considering, although with all the television publicitiy it is somewhat heavily booked.

I've never been a big fan of this musical, but I'm sure Mr. Atkinson did well as Fagin. It is a classic character in the history of musical theater.
