A friend of mine just told me that he heard on this yahoo! group that Noggin is to launch a new channel in the Spring of 2006 called "Noggin Classic." Not much about this new network is known yet, but from what it sounds like, it makes me want to scream and jump up and down. I sure hope this will come true. Just so you know.

What "friend"? Andy maybe? Show us some actual proof, like an article or something.

"Noggin Classic" huh? I'm sure that just means another channel where they rerun "classic episodes" of Franklin, Maisy, Little Bear, and all of those other Nick Jr. shows, and there would no sign of Sesame Street. You said so yourself, Noggin HATES Sesame Street.

BTW, nice to see you posting again, ssetta!

Well at least it gives us yet another glimmer of hope in seeing some classic SS, a Noggin classic channel in 2006 with the new PBS channel in September 2005. And the good news, according to a recent tv guide, of epsiodes of the 70's "Electric Company" to be released on dvd. Slowly but surely, maybe the ball is rolling! (Hmmmm. If it's SURELY, then using MAYBE for the very next word doesn't make a whole lot of sense, eh? :stick_out_tongue: ).
And the fact that Noggin gave us, at least for a brief time, some classic SS (which I, sadly, never did see due to Noggin not being available locally here. :frown: ) gives me a further glimmer of hope (just a GLIMMER, though  )
that maybe the 2006 channel will include more classic SS.

Aside: Hopefully those fireworks are almost over, I have to get to sleep! Have to be up at 5am for work tomorrow. When I offered to work overtime this entire 4th of July weekend I totally forgot the drawback of fireworks all around me outside keeping me up! I tried to go to bed at 7pm tonight actually, in order to get some sleep before the noise. However, lots of people were outside already laughing and carrying on and playing music, etc. (Can't blame em' though. The weather feels delightful today).
HAPPY JULY 4th everyone!

I don't have an actual article, but I heard it from a member from MC who has not posted in the longest time. I think his name is like Mr. Chatterly or something, but I'm not sure. He told me he found out about it from someone on a Yahoo! group.

They don't hate it. They just don't have room for it on the regular Noggin channel anymore because they had to make room for new shows. And sadly, even if this new channel does launch, I somehow think it won't last very long, because I don't think it was ever getting good ratings to begin with, which is why they discontinued it. I mean, Toon Disney used to have all these shows from Disney Afternoon like DuckTales, TaleSpin, etc. and now that's all gone. See, what often happens with these non-popular new cable networks is, they end up becoming something entirely different. Just look at what is now Spike TV. Do any of you remember way back in the 80s when it was TNN (The Nashville Network) and had Country Music Videos? It's like you would have had to been around then to know that it used to be something else. But this also happened with some of the channels Vh-1 has. Vh-1 Classic was actually Vh-1 Smooth for about a few months, and it bombed. Now there's Vh-1 Megahits which I was told is going off the air very shortly, and it will turn into a new network called LOGO. Also, MTV X changed to MTV Jams. I don't even know if this "Noggin Classic" channel will actually come about.

Exactly - that's why I requested that you show proof.
