New Toy Story Short Celebrates Kid's Meal Toys!

I have to judge it for myself when I see it. I dug the Hawaiian vacation one and all, but the premise sounds a little more interesting... though they already did the fast food promo joke

Still kinda bugs me kids just abandon these things. I manged to snag a couple that were left behind by kids who were long gone.

DON'T LOOK AT ME LIKE THAT! They would've been tossed out anyway. And it was basically just a couple... an extra General Grevious and something else. Once found a bunch of Spongebob fast food toys left behind at a TRU, and had to convince the clerk that someone left them there so I could swipe them and that they were from Burger king.

The 1986 McD happy meal! I still have some of the original ones I got...sadly only Canada got the fifth one, which was Baby Animal. A few years later they did a couple other Muppet Babies ones, but that 1986 one was cool. Sadly the days of 80's, 90's and early 2000's Muppet kids meal toys seems long gone

I refuse to eat someone else's food... I'm kinda germaphobic like that. But I HATE seeing abandoned toys... Kids take that stuff for granted and it's disappearing. I was in heavy shock when BK changed it's kids meals, fearing they dumped the toy like KFC and everyone else focusing on a crappy box... but then I saw they have that Penguin movie figures in there and I felt relieved. Still wish we had Muppet SOMETHING, though. At least another DC heroes bit at McD's instead of Bakugan (I swore the popularity of that one faded by now).

They had those interstitials on ABC Kid's in 1996. I think some of them are one one of the DVD's.

Yeah I won't eat someone else's food either. The idea turns my stomach. As for Kid's Meal toys, I had an experience recently where I came across a Burger King Kid's Meal toy from the FurReal Friends promotion they had a year or so ago in a CVS. It was a small plush dog sitting there alone among a bunch of Zhu Zhu Pets. As wierd as this sounds I kind of felt sorry for it and wanted to take it. I didn't because I didn't want someone to think I was stealing something. For all I know the poor thing's still there.

It's probably been dumped in the trash since.

I only take mine from mall food courts and fast food places. Sometimes if they're tossed out onto the streets. I can't bare the thought of kids just tossing them away like that.

Probably so. Funny, the idea makes me sadder than it probably should. I tend to over-anthropomorphise toy dogs.

You mean 'sequels', shinycelebi? Well, for one thing, people love Toy story. It's a beloved franchise and people want to see more. Think about it like The Muppets. Would you want to end the Muppets and stop any and all Muppet merchandise. No, of course not. It's something that is loved by the fans and people want to see more. It's the same way with Toy story. Frankly, I'd love to see a Toy Story TV show, if it's done well.

Toy Story 3 is the highest grossing animated movie of all time. It's popular so it gets tons of merchandise. Frankly there's not near as much Toy Story merchandise as there is Cars stuff. They're milking that cash cow with both fists.
