ok i found this out...reese withersoon wants to do a leglly blond 3 in a few years..this time she is going to london.....i am really getting tired of reese witherspoon and her cutesy/look at me movies.....ryan
At least Reese is a good actress! I'd go to one of her movies, even a bad one, over Rene Zellweger, anyday!

I mean, Zellweger couldn't act her way out of a paper bag, even on a GOOD day...! And she was first choice for "Samanatha" in the upcoming "Bewitched" movie? Blegh! Gag!

I heard she turned it down because Jim Carrey is going to play "Darrin" (as per Dick York), which I swear he is BORN to play. Well, I'm not much for Nicole Kidman, either, as an actress, but at least she favors Elizabeth Montgomery, facially. If she can pull this off, okay...she'll edge up a notch in my books. But Zellweger's turn-down was due to "past relationship" with Mr. Carrey. What is it with these girls who just won't let go...?

Don't believe everything you hear. Nicole has been developing this movie for years. I don't think Rene ever was considered.

I wouldn't be that viscous. Rene is a pretty good actress. I enjoy her. I don't get the backlash. Maybe it's that she became more popular than she probably should have - the Tom Hanks syndrome. So popular you begin to get tired of it. I enjoy Nicole. I'm glad she'd finally coming into her own.

That's kinda funny. I saw Sweet Home Alabama, hated it. I saw Legally Blonde, hated it. Saw her on Friends, hated her appearance. From what I've seen her do, I've never liked Reese Witherspoon. I mean, I'm not going to get, as Jamie puts it, vicious and slam her every chance I get. I've just never really liked her.

Oh, well. Everyone's different. Everyone's got a different opinion. Mine's probably the one that stinks.

I'm not being vicious...just stating my honest opinion of the woman as an actress from my point of view.

I guess what bugs me about her the most is not her movie persona, per se (I mean, I did watch both "Bridget Jones," did care for it much, and "Nurse Betty," which was definitely disturbing but one of those "you can't look away" kind of movies), but it's her actual personality that she presents to the public.

I think I have never laughed so hard as when Jillian Barbarie from "Good Day Live" expressed the things I was thinking about Rene Zellweger out loud (and on air!). It's the squinty eyes and the sucked in cheeks...this is not a face you can really trust (my opinion!)...

And her actions at the Golden Globes and then the Oscars...if you watch tapes of it, you will see that she actually has a "is the camera on me? okay, a count of two with the hands in front of the face somewhere, then scream and shake hands like I can't believe it" routine! Seriously! I thought I was seeing things the first time, but when it was repeated the same performace upon winning from the Golden Globes at the Oscars, step for step (and my son and I walked her through it), I knew it was totally rehearsed. This is NOT a sincere person...

If this means I am "vicious," I'm sorry. I think I'm observant, and a half-way decent judge of character. And this character isn't someone I care for! (Sorry, had to get that in... )

By the way, Scooter...did you ever see her in "Man in the Moon" or "Pleasantville?" Both good movies...maybe you'd like her in those? Just asking...

I don't want to start an arguement here, but, I think the only reason Frogboy mentioned that was because she wasn't even being talked about.

If you mean "Man ON the Moon", I don't remember seeing her in that. If not, then, no, I've never seen it.

I've been meaning to take Pleasantville out of the library. I'm not willing to give up on a particular actor or actress just because I didn't like ONE movie they were in. Just what I've seen her in SO FAR I didn't like.

No, I said "Man IN the Moon." From 1991. With Sam Waterson. I think she was about 14 or so at the time, perhaps a little older, but looked younger.

"Man ON the Moon" is about Andy Kaufmann, and no, Reese wouldn't have been in that.

And I realize that Ms Zellweger wasn't being discussed, Ms Witherspoon was. But I was just stating that I would go to even a bad Reese Witherspoon movie over any that Zellweger was in...

Okay...end of this.

Seriously, though, if you get a chance, you should check out "Man in the Moon," as it is a good story. Of course, being a girl, I may have liked it better than most guys would...it's a kind of "first love" story, so please keep that in mind. Wouldn't want to get into trouble if you didn't like it because it was a "girly movie." Or what they call today, a "chick-flick."

Wolfy- It appears there is more passion behind the people and things you don't like than the ones you do. It's your prerogative and I’m not a Rene fan, but you are attacking the woman's film characters and what you assume to be her real persona from a few snippets of television footage. She's not my favorite person, but I don't read-in the same sort of ulterior motives. I seriously don’t see how you take it all that far. It's human nature for different personalities to rub each of us a different way, but it's qute another to create someone else's internal dialoge from so little.

Jamie, talk to me about something I do like and you will probably get just as much passion and enthusiasm.

Don't judge me on what you think you read into my words.

After all, they are only words.

No, I don't care for Rene Zellweger. It's based on what I have seen of her in interviews, in stories, in movies and whatever else she has put forward to the public eye. Also, I don't care for her face...there's just something about it that doesn't sit right with me.

Haven't you ever gotten what's considered a "hinky" feeling about someone? I have that about her. Sorry. There are just some people in the world who strike me that way, and there is nothing in particular that I can name or finger that makes it so...

As for stating that I "appear [to have] more passion behind the people and things (I) don't like than the ones (I) do" is really doing to me what I guess I do to Rene...judging without knowing.

I don't "assume" to know what may be her "real persona," nor do I attack her film characters. I am attacking her acting skills.

And like I said, I watched her at both the Golden Globes and the Oscars, this year and last, and she has the same movements down for each time she wins. Seriously, Jamie, if you get footage of this wins you will see what I am talking about.

I like that people are different. It's what makes the world go 'round.

So I'm not a Rene fan. The only one stating I am being vicious and mean toward her is you, so you must like her more than I. Enjoy. As I stated...I am ending my Rene talk on here. I don't care for her, and I doubt I ever will. Forgive me if that offends you!

I don't understand your animosity and I'm not being judgmental of you. I was simply taken back by how you can judge somebody you don't know. She doesn't do that much press. You also injected some mis-information by saying she acts a certain way "every time she wins" when she didn't win the Oscar, she won the Golden Globe. I think that was said before.

It doesn't offend me that you don't like Rene or her acting. She doesn't top any of my lists either and it wouldn't matter if she did. It is depressing that many of your words seem to be so passionately negative and that you tend to get so personal with other members when you disagree with them. I didn't mean to put you on the spot. I simply said your words on the subject were scathing and that I didn't feel she did anything outright to deserve that sort of statement. On the other hand, yes - she has a scrunchy face that looks like she's smelled something funky, Bob Hope has a big nose and Ray Liota has scars on his face from acne. I guess it’s just a big deal when their faces are 40 feet high.
