DuckTales - Could this be the contents of the upcoming 3-disc set?

We have some exciting Ducktales info today, from a retail source who spoke to us on the condition that they would remain anonymous. This is somebody new to us, and we haven't been able to confirm the information with a second source yet. Normally we would be cautious with a new source like this, but this person comes across as knowing their stuff, so we're going to go out on a bit of a limb here and pass the info along to our readers. Take it all with a grain of salt, though, just in case somebody is putting us on!

In our previous news story, we told you that DuckTales on DVD will be a 3-disc set that goes for $34.99 SRP. Our new best friend tells us that there will be 27 episodes on this release, and ought to follow in general airdate order as a "Volume 1" release. The list we were given (below) does seem to follow the TV.com episode guide, but it does NOT include the pilot telefilm "Treasure of the Golden Suns", however. It starts at the first regular episode and continues from there:

1) "Send In The Clones"
2) "Sphinx For The Memories"
3) "Where No Duck Has Gone Before"
4) "Armstrong"
5) "Robot Robbers"
6) "Magica's Shadow War"
7) "Master Of The Djinni"
8) "Hotel Strangeduck"
9) "The Lost Crown Of Genghis Khan"
10) "Duckman of Aquatraz"
11) "The Money Vanishes"
12) "Sir Gyro de Gearloose"
13) "Dinosaur Ducks"
14) "Hero For Hire"
15) "Superdoo!"
16) "Maid Of The Myth"
17) "Down And Out In Duckberg"
18) "Much Ado About Scrooge"
19) "Top Duck"
20) "The Pearl Of Wisdom"
21) "The Curse Of Castle McDuck"
22) "Launchpad's Civil War"
23) "Sweet Duck Of Youth"
24) "Earthquack"
25) "Home Sweet Homer"
26) "Bermuda Triangle Tangle"
27) "Microducks From Outer Space"

We're also told that no extras have been mentioned so far. We're hoping that changes, of course, since this and Chip & Dale's Rescue Rangers are only the second and third Disney DVD season-set releases of an animated series, and the first one - Gargoyles - has had some supplements.

We'll keep an eye out for the official announcement on this release, and let you know if there are any differences between it and the info we've brought you today. In the meantime, if we haven't irritated our source with our cautious wording, we hope they can provide more details about Rescue Rangers soon. Stay tuned!

I used to love Chip and Dale's Rescue Rangers! I haven't seen that show in ages, but then again, I also love the original Chip and Dale shorts that I still see frequently.

Duck Tales, it'll be good to see that one again. While we're on the subject of ducks, anyone else here like Uncle Scrooge comics?

I always loved the ORIGINAL Disney Afternoon lineup:
Gummi Bears
Ducktales
Chip and Dale's Rescue Rangers
Tale Spin

I even have a tape with all the songs they sang on those shows.

Amen

I got the 80's cartoon music CD from the library, put them on tape (cuz my car only takes casets) so I liston to such songs as "Sailor Moon" "Ninja Turtles" "Duck Tales" "Chip n' Dale" (wich is a LONG complicated song... they dont even paly a 1/4 of it in the cartoon! has a whole sax solo and all...) "DarkWing Duck" (one of my favs) and "Where in the World is Carmen Sandiago" (all acapella... thats not spelled right....) Its wonderful...

They just dont make cartoons like they used to... :frown: poor deprived generation... growing up on nothing better than Pokemon and Yu-gi-o (wich in my eyes are they same cartoon, HOW IS POKEMON STILL ON THE AIR WITH NEW EPISODES?! thats been on since I was like in 7th grade! and its the same show over and over, you would think they would run out of diffrent ideas of how to alter the show!! anyway.. Ill step off my soap-box...)

Thank God there's somebody else who thinks the same way I do. I was always the one kid in my class who never hooked onto the "latest thing", be it Pokemon, Yu-Gi-Oh, Digimon, Magic cards or what have you. I realized the stunning repetition of the plots therein, so I never bothered. I stuck to Looney Tunes and Britcoms (even in the third grade, I was smart enough to know really good humor).

the 80's was a good time for cartoons. Even the early 90's. Cartoon network has some good-ok ones. I like Sponge Bob and Dexters Laboratory, but the anime has got to stop, at least the bad stuff, you know the usual, People training some sort of monster to battle other of its kind, with magical powers. You can classify most of the anime on fox and WB as that. A few twists, but, its the same.

Pretty much. The '80s produced some excellent cartoons, as well as the "Saturday morning Bugs Bunnies" of yore, which thankfully still air up my way. IMO though, the best time for cartoons was when the Hanna-Barbera studio was in full force. "Scooby-Doo" is a classic, as are "Top Cat" and "The Jetsons".

Im not saying its bad, but I was never a Scooby-doo fan, just wasnt. (Im weird like that) I also liked all the old game shows, you know Carmen SanDiago, Double Dare, etc.. they were usually learning games. You really dont see those anymore, even adult ones. All there is is Reality TV (still waiting for them to run out of ways to torture people, but it keeps coming) and ER or forensic spin offs (again, about the same, slightly different) They need new people in there writing stuff, fresh new ideas.

Carmen Sandiego. That was my favorite show at one point. I can vividly remember playing with about five kids in the back lot of our school. Three of us were the good guys (I can't remember the name of the good organization, it's been that long) and the other two were VILE. It was great fun until the teacher finally got ticked off at everyone taking sides within the game, so she forbid it. I'm still waiting for DVDs of that show.
