Nervous here- My Fraggle Rock Fan Fic

Hi guys. I'm a bit nervous about this, but I thought I'd pitch my idea for a Fraggle Rock fan fic. The as yet untitled (maybe someone out there can come up with a great idea for a title?) fanfic takes up where the last two Fraggle Rock episodes left off: Doc (AKA Jerome Christian) is now living in the desert with Sprocket and Ned Shimmelfinney, who had to move there for health reasons. In my story, Doc and Gobo are happily reunited when Gobo, throught an amazing twist of fate, discovers a tunnel leading from Fraggle Rock to Doc's new place.

With me so far? Okay, entering into the equation, Doc's 20-something neice Erica. She comes to visit her "Uncle Jerome" and Sprocket. When an unfortunate accident leads to a diagnosis of diabetes, Erica ends up moving in with her uncle. She meets the Fraggle Five, and they become friends and Erica gets to share in the magic that is Fraggle Rock. Erica also finds romance with someone from the Fraggle World, someone you'd least likely expect to fall in love with a human (wanna guess who?).

So, what do you think? If you totally hate my idea, please don't flame me about it, thank you (cringes).

P.S.: Just thought I'd let you know, the accident that leads to Erica being diagnosed with with diabetes is based on events from my own life. In February of 2004, I was volunteering at a dog grooming place. I was on my way to work and had only made it across the street to the sidewalk there when my legs buckled under me and I hit the concrete sidewalk like a ton of bricks. I'll spare you the gory details, but the accident was apparently caused by a sugar spike, and I now have Type 2 diabetes.

Anyhow, like I said, if you hate my fan fic idea, please be kind enough to not tell me. Thanks.

Hi... Few things...
Don't worry about flaming. The moderators here try to keep that sort of thing under control and deal with the parties responsible for such carrying on. It does happen from time to time,but the number of incidents of flaming is maintained to a very low tally due to the family friendly nature MC seeks to promote and preserve.

As for your fanfic... There are some interesting elements. For example, the romance between a human and a Fraggle, I'm willing to give that a chance since we have so many different romances between species in the Muppets and Muppet fanfics.
Would recommend you do some research reading first though. Because your proposed fanfic deals with such a sensitive health issue, I'd say read these:
Swamp Call by Lisa (TogetherAgain).
Rowlf's Stories by Beth (redBoobergurl).
Book 1: Where Your Heart Leads You.
Book 2: The Tie That Binds.
Book 3: An Unbreakable Bond.
Book 4: In Love And Harmony.
Book 5: The Next Step.
Of particular importance is Book 2, but since it's part of a series, I thought I'd give you the titles so you can read them all in order.
Return to the Magic by Christyb.
I'm recommending you search for and read the original version of this one by my cyber-sister, she's doing some rewrites and turning it into a trilogy, but I think it'd be of help to you what with the element of introducing a new human character into the world of the Fraggles.

Hope this helps and don't get discouraged if noone replies... Just means we're searching for what to say and how to say it in a courtius manner. Either that, or we simply don't know how to answer.

Hello there Cherry P. The idea sounds sound (see what I did there? Sounds sound? Clever, no?). The idea of a story with a relation of Doc's discovering the Fraggles has been done in a variety of ways here in the past, but I think yours has a unique and very intersting twist on the story.

As for the Fraggle/Human romance. I can see it happening, although there is a slight height difference, but the most interesting thing is the choice of partner, as Erica would have her share of problems with her enviroment (foods she must/musten't eat, etc) the same as (I'm assuming) Boober has with his enviroment.

It could be a great story!

Yes, this idea sounds..er..sound. Gobo and the others did find a new tunnel in the series though, so I just would advise that it's not perhaps the best idea to present it as something new. Also, as long as we're talking prier reading, allow me to mention a very important set that Ed forgot, Sadie's Stories written by Renee Louvier! It deals with one of the most delicate health issues of all. I imagine health knowledge won't be a problem though, since you have personal experience.

Thank you guys, for the advice. I will definitely check out those other fan fics and articles. And Beau, I was planning on making Erica a vegetarian, and my idea for the size issue is the Fraggle Five getting a shrinking potion from the Trash Heap which allows Erica to shrink to Fraggle-size for certain periods of time, so she can actually go inside Fraggle Rock with her new friends and explore the place.

Yes! Sadie's Stories by Sara (ReneeLouvier) is a must for everybody as we keep drawing references from that immense reservoir for our own stories.

Oh, and Beau, you guessed right: it is Boober who falls for Doc's neice. Initially, Boober is a bit unnerved by the presence of another human, but as he gets to know Erica, he gradually comes to love her.

Dear Fragglemuppet:

You seem knowledgable about the last two Fraggle Rock episodes, maybe you can help me with my research for my fan fic. So let me see if I have this straight: the Fraggle Five actually do find a tunnel leading from Fraggle Rock to Doc's new home in the desert? Cool! Here are some other questions about the last two episodes I have:

1.)What was Ned shimmelfinney ailing from that necessitated his move to the desert? And do Doc and Sprocket end up going with him to support their friend, or is there another reason they go along with Shimmelfinney?

2.) Do the other members of the Fraggle Five meet Doc, or is it just Gobo? If the others get to meet him, how do Red, Wembley, Mokey and Boober feel about Doc?

The more I know about the last two episodes, the better for my fan fic. If you could help out in any way, that would be greatly appreciated, thanks .
