They will scalenwith their Sesame Street line and their Sesame Street line scales well enough with Palisades. However, we need to remember that Palisades Muppet figures are over 20 years old now. The fact that NECA even made an attempt to scale with the Palisades figures shows they care enough to consider existing collections.

The other thing to consider is that some of the Palsaides figures dont scale within their own line. Rizzo is way too big and the Fiamond Select Rizzo scales better with the Palisades line. Beaker is far too skinny. Dr. Teeth is smaller than he should be for the line. Sweetness is much smaller than he should be, but making him bigger would look wrong.

Muppet scales are an art, not a science. Their sizes in relation to each other are always being cheated.
Very true. Just hope Piggy is bigger than Scooter! For non-main characters like Mahna Mahna it doesn’t matter so much.

Don’t get me wrong; i am thrilled that NECA is producing these. Their Muppets figures were by far the best thing at Toy Fair this year!

I think this first 'wave' is really telling for just how much consideration NECA is giving the Palisades line. Mahna Mahna and the Snowths fill a hole, and Piggy is a desired upgrade. I don't think a new Gonzo was high on many Palisades collectors wish lists, but that's still 2/3 of the shown releases satisfying Palisades collectors' specific wants.

It seems like a bit of a tricky place for NECA as far as character selection and scale. I assume Palisades collectors make up a significant portion of their potential market. They need to pick characters that will be appealing to general collectors and Palisades collectors. I could see many Palisades collectors sitting out this new line if the figures didn't fit in with our current collection both scale-wise and character choice. Fortunately for NECA, as MWoO pointed out, since the Palisades line is over 20 years old at this point, I bet many of the Palisades collectors will be interested in getting updated figures of the main characters, especially some of the early figures. My wishlist of additional main characters for NECA to make is: Kermit, Fozzie, Rowlf, Animal, Floyd, Janice, Dr. Teeth, Bunsen, and Beaker. I think those 9 figures would sell pretty well across the board, probably Scooter, Zoot, Lips, Swedish Chef, Rizzo, Sam, and Statler and Waldorf, too (Though, I'm happy with the Palisades figures of these 8 Muppets).

If NECA comes out with a Crazy Harry, Bean, or Bobo early in the line, that would indicate to me that NECA is really trying to appeal to Palisades collectors, since those characters don't have the same general appeal (I don't think anyway). Unfortunately, I don't think Sal is likely any time soon.

Crazy Harry would be an interesting one just to see if Disney's approval team has eased off on 'violent' accessories. The Diamond Select Crazy Harry is more accurate looking in my opinion than the Palisades one but it took a massive hit because they weren't allowed to include his detonator so i would hope if NECA made him they'd be able to include it
